Am thinking of upgrading my Foxtel package to HD ( mainly for watching the league) but not really sure if the difference in picture quality is that noticeable.
Any recommendations one way or the other appreciated.

I got HD foxtel as soon as it was released the difference is huge, especially the specific HD channels…. plus you can do heaps more with the HD set top box.I kept the old IQ box and put it in the bedroorm . Just remember those losers at nine are not going to telecast the NRL in HD but foxtel do and its a much better expieriance ! how nine has got away with it considering most are buying HD teles is beyond me. Can recommend HD once you get it no looking back.

Thanks for the info , Snake - sounds like it will be worth it.
Ink - is only about $11 a month more expensive but you need to pay about $150 for the different box (I think)

Cheers, Ive seen HD footy on Fox at mates place, compared to on my 7 yo sony LCD…..its unbelievably better

I'm getting Foxtel installed (hopefully) this morning. Signed up to the half price starter pack deal and added sports and HD channels. They wanted $150 for the IQHD box + $10 a month. However I got them to reduce the cost of the box to $75 by saying I could get it for free with Telstra
After seeing Fox in HD, I think it's worth the extra $20 a month during the footy season (will drop it after the season finishes). The difference in quality is significant. I'd suggest you go to a pub/club running the HD and see for yourself.
Now I just hope the guy can install it. I live in an apartment and don't have strata approval to have any external cabling work done, however the previous tenant had it installed somehow so as long as it just requires the guy plugging the box into the socket Ill be scheduling the iq box for our upcoming games this afternoon.

I always activated HD Sport for the footy season. Once you make the switch it's painful going back
