Freddie

I watched him at the game…kicking football with the crew, with the ball boys, having a laugh with the crowd..credit to him, in an era where media is full of egos and primadonnas, he seems like a breath of fresh air...

I noticed this as well.
He went out of his way to have a long kicking session with them.

He was also walking around the crowd before the game mingling with the fans.

He's still got a pin-point accurate kick on him too, even in dress shoes.

Call me crazy, but he WOULD be my choice of coach if Taylor was moved on.

Yeah you're crazy we need an experienced coach we can't afford to take a punt on a first timer as much as I do like the idea though

He's not a first timer.

And he's not likely to let ego's push him around.

I agree about the ego, but the City team is completely different to coaching an NRL squad

He's a goose. Don't know if he's as bad as Joey though. Joey sounded absolutely plastered in the pre game the other day. Embarrassing that League is the only code whose ex players in the media are ones who can barely talk in front of a camera. Johns, Fittler, Tallis etc. Gasnier use to be shocking too, but he's improved. Now his only problem is that he's an arrogant know it all.

I think Freddie is a good guy, but he shouldn't be in the role he has in the media. A Bryan Fletcher, Nathan Hindmarsh style cameo would be fine.

He knows the game as well as anyone, and is very good in a team situation, but presenting that to the public is not his go at all.

He would also be a good assistant (and was), but he is not suited to being head coach, he is way too affable.

freddy finchy and joey together in front of a tv camera.

You'll never meet such a wretched crew of scum and villainy.

We must be cautious.

Damnit, now I'm imagining an NRL game called by Alec Guiness
