Freddy says each side needs a legend - who's ours?

Yeah cos Tim Brasher is a WT's legend isn't he

When we merged the history's merged. Why would you exclude such guys from being considered a part of Wests Tigers history?

Nobody called out MAFIA before when he posted Tommy did they? But that's typical really. All the whinging has always and continues to be coming from one side.

While you're right Mac, did you think Tommy has still got it. I'm over the Balmain yesterday's hero's parading, there nothing but bad news. In my own eyes Siro is the only one I have respect for because of his conduct towards the WT.

I understand how from a Maggies supporter perspective it can be frustrating to see over-representation in this regard but it's just coincidence. In the 20 year period before we merged the Balmain team just honestly produced more rep footballers ergo more "legends." Being that we're a young club we are devoid of legends in our own right (though that is and will continue to change) and, as stated since our history's merged, the legends of recent time happen to be largely the Balmain ones because they're the ones that are still young enough to get around without a scooter ergo get interviewed all the time and want to have their two cents with everything.

Brasher was the only name that jumped out at me, i guess thats what happens at 3 41am, so i was wrong just to point out Brasher, but no Tommy shouldn't be named either.

The reason i exclude them is cos they never played for WT's. We spend so much time trying to forge this clubs own identity, seemingly only when it suits us

And lol @ at your last sentence.

to make it easier, for the legend to be picked, why not have 2 "legends", be nominated.
Have a back and a forward nominated as " legends" from each club/fan base, and when games played, one legend must be in each game.
eg, the forward for first game, then the back in the second, or vica versa.

why not a All Stars system where the fans nominate the squad, which includes the selection of 2 club legends?

It will get too complicated

Every ex player will have to pass a full medical and the risks are too high

Can you imagine the damage to the game if one of the legends got a serious injury or worse still died from a heart attack

Thats really stretching it

Prince or hodgo would handle it without having a heart attack. Id love to see benji aswell once he retires. I love the idea, I got a real kick out of seeing Fittler again

How is Paytens knee? Reckon he would still teach the young guys a lesson if he could run. Either him or Hodgo for sure.

Well if his knee was even at 75% he would be a walk up starter for our current side LaT

does anyone else think having past players make the thing a bit of a farce.
Having a couple (menzies hasn't really stopped playing, so it is pretty much just Freddy) adds a bit of interest, having a host of them is ridiculous.

IF we did have to pick, one, id opt for Benji

Make it all ex players. That way, we don't end up with injuries for the real comp. Imagine if Teddy did his ACL again for some nothing weekend of whoo haa. We'd all be livid. Enough injuries came out of the weekend (fortunately none from us) to defunct the $3M or whatever it was in prize money. Just not worth it.

I'd much rather see a bunch of fat boys running around havin a laugh carnival style event.

Not really, I would enjoy a few more older players making a go of it. I'd love a set limit though, like say bringing in players Freddy/Beaver style to be set at 1 per team plus maybe another reserve. And if teams didn't want to bring a club favourite, they wouldn't have to.

Watching Fittler take that intercept was great fun at the pub. Nobody turned around and said "well that makes a joke of it". The only place I heard negative vibes was online on various footy forums by a small percentage.

List of players injured 19

Any news how Moses scans went ??

Exactly what I'm talking about. Some even talk of season. For what???. Not worth it IMO.

Big difference as Training is a necessity to the season under controlled circumstances. 9s is neither.
