Fresh Start For Jacob Miller

Ink said it best a few months ago when to paraphrase "Coach gives him the 7 jersey and says this is yours for the season, go out and do what you do"

Not like El Busto von Sheenso bringing in a kid, giving him limited effective game play and punting him when others mistakes cost the team

Give the kid a go and let him be allowed to overall marshall and farah. Play his natural game.

All good half backs need the forward pack to lay the foundations. Even Joey Johns would have struggle with our pack last year.

I would play Sironen and Moltzen in the halves in the State Cup team so we have ready replacements in tiem of injuries or form slumps.

Needs to spend time with defensive coaches. His attack has always been great. Kicking game too. Just leaked too many tackles. A half needs to be strong in both spots IMO. Give him time he'll do fine that kid.

Thats going to be the biggest issue for him, the foundation laid by the forward back. We all know the defense is ordinary in the NYC and the Tigers boys didn't have to much trouble getting a forward roll on for Miller play off the back of. First grade is a massive difference in that regard. I haven't seen Miller do much when on the back foot, so I'm definitely a little reserved in my opinion of him. I guess he's just got to be given a go and prove himself to doubters like myself.

I don't know Justo, the last three or four times I watched him play it was his defence that really stood out to me. He was prepared to make one on one front on tackles. I think this is a part of his game that might be perceived rather than fact. Others that have seen him play more often may like to comment.

The last game I saw him in First Grade I though he defended quite well. Would he miss more one on ones than Robbie and Benji do?

Robbie no. Benji probably. But your right I suppose. Halfs get hammered by the attack so the more tackles they are forced to make the more misses they will make. It's a numbers game and maybe I'm being a little critical. Either way I'm glad for the club we are commiting to a 7\. Hope it lasts. Look what patience did with lui. He developed very well. Pity he had to belt his mrs about the head though.
