Fullback for 2012?

Now its confirmed Moltzen and McKinnon are leaving, who would be your first choice fullback for 2012.

Personally I think Lawrence would be great in both defence and attack but he owns left centre and it might be a shame to weaken that position. Tuquiri is my other choice, but I do have some concerns about how he'd go in defence.

I'd start the season with Tuquiri and see how it pans out. If he doesn't live up to it, then maybe try Mullaney before having to bite the bullet with Lawrence.

Brown and Ryan would be on the bottom of my list. I hope Sheens isn't even considering either for starting 13.

Meaney. Genuine pace and height. Great organiser
Lawrence. If Reddy is up to centre for us
Mullaney. If he keeps improving
Brown but he has real moments of nervousness under the high ball

Reddy If Sheens had any plans of making any of the others fullback they should be playing that position now . Believe Reddy will fill the position for next 2 years until Tedesco is ready

No way in the world would i put Lawrence @ fullback as he is one of the top centres in the game & we would only be weaken that position if we moved him to fullback.

The question won't be who we think will be fullback ,it will be who does Sheens think will be fullback for 2012 .Answers will vary then .

I would love to see Meaney given a fair crack at the job, but it will not happen. He is a good defender, quicker than most other candidates, good under the high ball and a good organizer, just needs a chance playing with better players in a higher grade

I've gone for Reddy only for the fact that I cannot see the centre pairing of Ayshford and Lawrence being broken up.

Even though I am loathe to break up Lawrence and Tuqiri, I do like the idea of Tuqiri getting more involved at fullback, and bringing in someone like Koribete to play outside Lawrence.

I think as long as we have someone fast who can position himself outside Lawrence, the left side will be just as dangerous as ever.

Also, given that Tuqiri only has 1-2 years left, we can bring Tedesco in once he's ready if he continues like he has in NYC.

I voted Tedesco, but I wouldn't mind Reddy,he is safe under the high ball and a great defender and I think Sheens will go this way,but I say put the kid in and let him loose.

I've always wanted to see how Lawry would handle Fullback.
he's got speed, defensively can handle himself, can throw a nice pass.
my only question would be how is he under the highball?

Would love to see lawry sniffing around ruck waiting for a short ball off benji and lui or an offload from the forwards.

i went with other, just because i cant see any of those players playing fb next yr. surely we will sign a specialist fullback that is already an established nrl player!

Benji might be the type of player who would like a new challenge at the back, since he has already accomplished so much at 5/8th.

I think Sheens should talk to Benji and see if he might like to give it a crack, if so, put Benj there for a few rounds and see what happens. Otherwise find another option. But I wouldn't shift him there if he personally wants to stay a 5/8th.

If Benji does shift there, Miller & Siro would be brilliant to shift to the 1st grade halves next year.

I picked Reddy, basically because there is no other position I can see him starting in. Also none of the other candidates suit.

I picked Tuqiri as he has most of the attributes necessary and the players would listen to him more than the rest.
Lawrence will become a world class center next year, moving him could be detrimental to his game.
Benji likes mixing it up in the frontline, wouldnt go for the change IMO.
Reddy is a center.
Tedesco is too green.
Mullaney is a shot but needs some serious beefing up.
Ryan and Brown are depth fullbacks only.

Poor old Beau is still to get off the blocks. He was a solid showing in his time there, excepting that godawful attempt at a bomb at Campbelltown versus the Chooks last year. Mind you he was taken out.
