gavat and Groat must be only about 8 weeks away and fingers crossed Galloways pec is only a 6 week job.That will put us in a pretty good position if we can hang in and around mid table by the half way mark

I wouldn't expect Gavet back before round 15\. The injury he sustained is generally a 5 month layoff. Groat should be back sooner, but I wouldn't expect him back in the next couple of weeks. We hopefully get young Sirro back this week but he'll need 3-4 games in State Cup to get some match fitness and timing before I'd consider him in FG.

This is the only place I would have Utai is on the bench to come on for a 10-15 min stint toward the end of each half.
 
PENRITH star Lachlan Coote is facing a season on the sidelines after being ordered to undergo immediate surgery for a pectoral tear suffered in yesterday’s loss to Wests Tigers.

Tigers prop Keith Galloway is also bracing for the same grim news after a pectoral tear also ended his afternoon at Campbelltown.

While the club was initially hopeful Coote might only miss six weeks, further tests have revealed the tear is worse than originally thought.

Coote’s 11th minute departure threw Penrith’s attack into disarray, with skipper and specialist hooker Kevin Kingston forced to deputise in the halves.

After playing most of his NRL career at fullback, the Windsor Wolves junior had trialled strongly at the scrum base and looked dangerous in Penrith’s opening round win over Canberra.

Another local product - Blake Austin - now shapes as the logical choice to partner Luke Walsh in the halves.
 
Why do these foot injuries take so long to heal? Is it a break or ligament related?

I really did love watching Pettyborne take those hit ups yesterday afternoon!

It's a break, but the nature of the bone itself, where it's positioned etc, makes it quite a long recovery.
 
Bad luck Kilo…get well soon.

Seem to be a lot of pec injuries **_early_** in the season the last few year if memory serves me right

I had a strange foot injury which was diagnosed as a crush injury. There was no break or ligament damage but a lot of pain and it eventually came good after months not being on it. An injury to the foot can be a difficult to recover from.
