What I'm wondering is why the knives were out in another thread for something off an unverifiable twitter account with nearly everybody condemning it as useless because of its source, but on the other hand an anonymous radio call rumour gets a thread and everybody is hunkydory about speculating?

Is radio ok and twitter bad? Or is the condemnation based purely on what the rumours content is?

I work in online marketing and there is a reaction in some people akin to a mental illness related to the apprehension caused by the mere mention of social media.

Pretty obvious a somewhat positive rumour would get a generally positive response….and vice versa with a negative rumour...doubt the media vehicle has much relevance

I'd like to believe that, but it always seems to degenerate into bashing because it came from twitter or social media. MacDougall is right, the way some people react over certain media forms is amazing at times.

Nobody says boo about radio rumours which have equal amounts of veracity.
