BWG, I like most of what you say on this forum, but this statement is just wrong.
The NSW Cup teams plays to the same calls, structures, and system as the NRL team. The bulk of the reserve grade team comes from the NRL squad. The NSW Cup coach looks after the part-time training squad and game day coaching (If that is included in his remit). He is not installing his own structures independent of how the 40-man pre-season NRL squad are currently doing at the moment. That would be a ridiculous situation when players are in between the grades during the season. Clubs have grades working within the same system, not independent of each other.
The shit predicament I'm envisaging right now is that McCarthy as a part-time NSW Cup coach isn't wholly immersed in the NRL set-up like Payne was last season, and Lambkin before him, and Gardiner before him. So are drills and structures at part-time level being delivered in the exactly the same way as NRL?
