Game Plan?

Team changes would be, play anasta off the bench, have a starting back row or blair, fulton and murdoch

Bench Anasta, Bell, Buchanan and Pettybourne

Play a solid winger on the right.

Play a fast game centerred around getting the ball outwide to benji to make space for lawrence, koro and ayshford making meters then getting in a close for miller, benji and farah doing short balls on to bodys running fast at the line/holes. Kick well is an obvious plan but it is possible for us to exacute it and acctually benifit, always thought our chases are fairly good but need the better kick to really show the value.

The key for wests tigers in season 2013 is getting our fowards passing at the line to a runnign benji/miller/moltzen/tedesco and switch plays with farah. This cuppleded with supreme excuation from our centres and wingers and fast running backrowers will open up our game and run teams around. The teams we think are good are that good but they will crumble if teams can play a bit quicker and tighter in deffence and In attack fast angles, bodys moving and speed. Although the can only happen if our fowards can stop there fowards….

Complete more sets, get as many repeats as we can and don't give away penalties (are you listening Chris Lawrence!!!!). The cost of an error in 2013 is greater than in other years as most teams seem capable of higher completion rates. Having the ball is a bigger advantage than before, it seems.

Drop utai and bring up either teddy to wing, or moltzen to wing and teddy to FB. Otherwise, no changes besides a little shuffle with the backrow/bench so fults and anasta aren't on at the same time.

I've also been wondering. This year has had some extremely fast play, quick play the balls due to refs being extremely harsh with penalties. Does anyone think this will benefit our lightweight pack in the longrun?

Kick
Kick long
Kick often

Going on what Ive seen, its our only chance

Not until we dominate in defence

Good field position in attack ,excellent completion rates (80+%),kick smart, repeat sets ,lots and lots of patience with the ball in hand

Good kick chase ,straight line in defence ,good line speed ,hunt as a pack ,keep Penrith out of our 20 as much as possible ,pressure on the Penrith kickers ,limit the cheap penalties

Basically exactly the opposite of Monday night

We'll need to improve our kick chase if that's the case. We gave Newcastle's back three way too much room last week and one kick lead straight to a try (their first if I'm not mistaken, off the Uate break). They rarely started the set within their own quarter.

Every facet of play is relative to the ensuing facet of play, and so on etc etc
We were poor all over the shop, in every area.

Its a nice day for football today in the golden south west. Sunny sky at the moment, comfortable temperature but quite windy which if it stays the same by 3pm will impact on kicking games. Having said that our forwards need to step up in defence for starters then the team needs to complete sets to ensure a fair share of possession and field position. Get the base line right then go from there, sounds simple, everyone knows it but CAN they do it.

Cleary has really injected a lot of life into a bunch of journey men, so to beat them you have to do all the usual things, make your tackles, complete your sets and have a good kicking game, but you have to play at the same if not better intensity and enthusiasm. Its all about ripping into your work

Make our kicks useful, finding touch, 40/20, high bombs and short tand high to the corners. I hate it when marshall puts up a bomb and it goes out on the full or backwards putting us under more pressure. If we had a kicking game like Cronk or Thurstons, we would have alot more repaet stes to pile on the pressure. This is somthing we are not doing, pilling on th epressure with repeat sets.
