Gareth Ellis in 2012

In the post match press conference Timmy Sheens claims: "I stuck Gaz (Gareth Ellis) in the front row. A taste of things to come."

Im guessing next year will see:

8.Galloway
9.Farah
10.Ellis
11.Fulton
12.Blair
13.Heighnton

14.Woods
15.Bell
16.Groat
17.Murdoch-Masilla

Thoughts?

He did say he wanted a bigger team next year. Why breed all these young forwards and then not use them? I personally think Woods should start at prop with Fulton on the bench as the utility forward with Ellis and Blair forming the back row. But i havent coached four premierships and coach the Australian team.

Fulton as at his best when he plays 80mins , if he is not on for 80mins I wouldn't have him in the 17

i don't like it. He's wasted in the front-row IMO
a back row of Ellis, Blair and Heigno would be 1 of the best if not the best in the comp
surely Woods can make the step to starting Prop, or even Matthew Bell

Ellis is inspirational all the other guys feed off his great work . When he fires they all fire

could sheens be talking about the finals rather than next year?

with gibbs and payten out maybe he wants an old head to be working in tandem with a youngster during these high pressured weeks ahead of us.

I'm of the same opinion. At this stage, I highly doubt that Tim will be thinking of next year. This is another one of Tim's peculiar decisions and whether we like it or not, I think we should expect to see Gareth playing front row for the rest of this year.

He also played Heighno at prop.

Very odd but having the right contigency plans in place will go a big way to deciding the final 17 in finals matches

I think Tim's thinking would be he can get maybe a whole half from Ellis at prop .That way he can use the other props in shorter ,sharper bursts especially the younger guys
Well thats the only reason I can see anyway that makes any sense

Ellis will give 100% where ever he is placed.
i do prefer him running off Benji's and Lui's short balls outwide.
Perhaps Sheens is thinking of using him in the middle to cover for the loss of Gibbs' defensive efforts.

x 2 He gives a 100% every week no matter what
I think his groin was still giving him curry last night
At one stage I thought he had done more damage to his groin He seemed to really struggle to his feet

I've got an inkling next season it'll be

8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Murdoch-Masila
12\. Blair
13\. Ellis

Gaz playing up the middle third like an extra prop and shifting wider occasionally to run off the halves.
