Has anyone ever tried listening to him on Triple M? It's more dangerous than driving while texting. It makes me want to drive off a bridge.
 
Ellis isn't as revered in general league circles like he is in Tigers circles so this doesn't surprise me. A lot of it has to do with the Burgess bros, they stole his thunder.
 
Forgetting names and calling wrong players (as rabs did a few times last night) was the beginning of the end for old Rex

He misses everything, not just names. Late in the game when the Roosters were on the attack Maloney bobbled it clearly at dummy half and he was saying the guy playing the ball dropped it, it was as clear as day.

Watch how long it takes him to pick up when the ref blows a penalty for a strip. He's calls the knock on after the penalty's been blown. The old guy can't differentiate between a whistle for a penalty and a knock on.

The only thing he doesn't forget is to have at least one forced, inane, pointless fake argument with Gus about a rule of the game, or a sydney suburb and the direction it is from the ground, or which way the wind is blowing.

He annoys me no end, its a shame, I like commentary on footy games, it doesnt seem right silent, and whenever Ive tried radio its always out by a few second, the audio on radio to the vision

I can handle a few wrong names and what not but as others have noted the contrived fake arguments are deadset juvenile; and they get trotted out most matches.

Voss was OK and Smith in particular is OK on Fox.
