I have seen gasnier play french rugby a couple of times on tv and he's having no impact at all - he still does the gaz shuffle, then he gets smashed by the opposing centre and a couple of breakaways. Last time i watched a game he tried a gidley flick to his winger and it went out over the sideline. And, he has to wear those pink and blue stade france jerseys that look like someone has thrown up on them. No wonder he wants to come back to the nrl.

Can someone explain to me how gasnier can return but benji couldn't go play japanese rugby for a couple of months and come back? Is it because gasnier's uncle is rugby league royalty?

yes he does,that is why melbourne can't take pay cuts,it is a nominal value,it was applied to lote,so how do saints and gasnier get around it,double standards i would assume.

When gasnier last played he was the best centre in the game bar none… With a few years rest he could be even better, would pick him to have at the tigers over just about any other player out there

I agree with Irontiger Mystery… I think he is massively over-rated... not saying he isn't any good.. hut Hodges was a far better center i thought

Except in the one that mattered and Patty threw over the line and the Dragons choked once again.

I don't place Gasnier in the same class as Inglis and no i'm not a huge fan of Hodges…His attitude stinks and he is no where as good as he thinks he is.

Good point Geo - if i remember rightly the Tiges were told there was no way Marshall could be resigned on a minimum wage deal after a stint in RU - had to be paid at true market value - guess there are different rules for different clubs!
