DISAPPOINTED Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin has promised there will be no selection-room consequences for Dragons-bound Gerard Beale for the rest of the year despite contracts talks ending yesterday. Beale's manager Isaac Moses was informed of the club's decision to end negotiations, with the Broncos telling Moses they would not budge on their offer to the Kiwi Test player.
Brisbane believe they offered Beale the upgrade he deserved after he represented New Zealand for the first time last year and cemented a spot in first grade, but they needed to finalise deals with other players on the roster.
Beale is believed to have agreed to terms with St George Illawarra, who are desperate for a fullback after losing Darius Boyd to Newcastle and failing to lure Tim Moltzen from Wests Tigers.
