can anyone help me with what is the best way to get to leichardt on public transport?
coming form newcastle is it better to get off at strathfield or central?

Central….....440.

Or get off town hall, get the bus that goes over the glebe island bridge and do the darling St/call park walk/ pub crawl.....it's the best!!!

You can get the light rail from Central train station and get off at Lilyfield station

I get the light-rail up to Lilyfield and walk mate, only a few blocks.

So, if you re coming into Central, that's probably a good option.

thanks mate, how long a walk is it? thinking of the kids, don't want to drive to the game due to parking there but don't want to be wandering around for hrs trying to find my way there and back

If you catch the 440 bus from either town hall or central station, get of at Mary street & it's a 200-300 meter walk to Leichhardt Oval

Yeah the 440 is better if you're worried about the walk afterwards. The light rail is a nicer (IMO) trip but it is a further walk to get back and by the time you go down to Catherine St you could have probably found somewhere to park at this distance away.

Yeah, x2 on what Yoss said.
It's certainly not a small walk if you have kids. It is a nicer trip and probably a novelty for the kids, but maybe not worth the hassle.
