…..the penalty puller....

In hindsight...it won us the game.....

Some of ya best Gibbo....

Irony...

He certainly 'won' the penalty for us but the Raiders player really should have made more of an effort to get off. All he did was stand there looking at the ref. Was quite funny to see the penalty blown as you could see it in Maxwell's face that he really didn't want to give the penalty….I could almost hear the sigh

He was supposed to roll away and he didn't! He wanted to get back onside and do some goal line defence!! His fault that he got penalised.

Campese did the same. He went like bazillion meters off the mark and got one of the Tigers players offside (I think it was Ellis) and it resulted in a soft try to the Raiders. 2 points are nothing compared to 6 points.

Had to be a penalty, the defender is supposed to roll away to my knowledge - I have not seen a TV replay but at the ground it seemed to take 2 minutes for the Raider player to clear the ruck so Gibbs could play the ball.

I watched the highlights on NRL.com this morning. It was a bit milked, but TLL did NOTHING to move. He stood there with his arms in the air like he was on a motorised bull. Not Gibbs' responsibility to move.

Makes up for the penalty that they gave against Galloway for his late hit on Campese while kicking!! That was one of the most atrocious penalties ever!!

Yes it had to be a penalty not saying it wasn't …

What I am saying is the work that Gibbs put in to earn the penalty was magic stuff....Gibbs made it hard for TLL to get off him quickly...when you get the benefit of replay let me know what you think?

This was a massive effort by champion Gibbs and to think that maxwell awarded it- oh so sweet!! onya Gibbsy…

Gould just said in The Roast that it was a penalty in his rule book….... FFS, the onus is on the defender to get off quickly. :deadhorse:

Gibbsy played his part no doubt, but as other have rightly said it took TLL ages to clear the ruck when we were rolling towards a try.

Fair call for the penalty.

He did get up and try to play the ball.
And when the penalty was awarded he threw the ball in anger and complained to the ref

great work by Gibbo. Im sure he deliberately drops the ball so the ref has to make a call, otherwise he wasn’t going to award it.

was a penalty if going with consistency.. can't go over the top of a player.. they always say to go to the side

Apparently he also won us the game with Fulton by going hardout sledging on Croker which made him miss the goal.

Poor Croker but AWESOME stuff Fults and Gibbo!!!

why is gibbs still in team?
sure, he has pulled off some massive tackles in the past 2 weeks and has a high workrate.
but the bloke never runs full pace at the line , he runs slowly like shane tronc and complements it with the useless shimmies and footwork he does in each run . On top of that he cant offload effecitively, doesnt bend the line back.
plays less than 50 mins per game
surely you have blokes in nsw cup that can do a better job?
