For his swinging arm on Lawrence…

Knights captain Kurt Gidley has been charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle for a controversial high tackle on Chris Lawrence in the 44th minute that resulted in the centre spilling the ball just metres out from the Knights' line in yesterday's match.

No penalty was awarded for the high tackle that saw Lawrence leave the field, but Gidley has been charged following the review, and is free to play this week with an early plea.

Add another stuff up Badge...can we have Mrs Badge next time please... :bash

What a joke.

The referees at the time said they couldn't give the penalty because it wasn't reportable.

Yet he gets charged after the game.

Its a token charge.

Grade 1 careless, same as what they charged Lodge with for his tackle late in the game.

If i thought it was fair and honest game id be really disappointed, as it is i expect them to treat us with this kind of contempt.

I thought it would of been a Grade 4 Footballer Impersonation charge in Gidley's case

Nup, it should have been a grade 1 Morocco Mole referee impersonation charge on Badger.
A Badger which has relatively good vision is Family Mustelidae, whereas a Mole noted for its poor vision is Family Talipidae. Hmmm I think I'm on to something.

someone should have sorted this scumbag out on the park. Sims deserved to be brutalised, though Gidley took the grub up a notch on him.

I was actually more disappointed in the team not stepping up to fix these germs than I was in the loss.

Says volumes after that rubbish performance.

What's the point? We'd only get penalised and God knows we don't need to give them any more reasons to blow the whistle against us.

Agreed… If the officials arent gona do there jobs, we need to take it out of their hands.

It worked for Farah vs Watts... The Ref only had himself to blame!

Come on Hap, Gids is an Origin player - he will probably be named on the bench for NSW next week

Now if Lawrence had hit Gidley across the back of the head with a high swinging arm 1m out from try line, Lawrence would be on report and penalty would have been awarded.

Badger needs to be dropped and the beard with him.

He is so biased it is beyond a joke and he gets worse every time we get him.

How? That's why these scumbags get away with it - if the odd punch was allowed or a throat to be slit i'm sure a lot of this crap would cease.

Seems like I'm the only one who thought that wasn't a penalty. I remember looking at it in normal speed and thought Lawrence ducked his head too early to go to ground

A little off topic but I hate how high tackles are usually a one way street- there have been so many cases where players put their own head in a dangerous position (not always to earn a penalty). I think afl has a rule against that where if you put your own head in a dangerous position, it's a penalty against you.
