Did they really?Comparatively speaking it’s not.
We came last in 2022 and weren’t considered (apart from our own fans) to improve much on that.
The Bulldogs loaded up on just about everyone available, including the ‘Messiah’ running the joint, were expected to improve greatly and push into the top 8.
The Roosters, with a stacked lineup, were expected to push Penrith to take out this years comp.
Coming last is a shocker for us … but not unexpected by most NRL fans.
Bulldogs and Roosters supporters would be fuming as much as us I’d guess.
Only thing we’ve got to top them in the end is the ineptness of our board and coaching staff… the joy that just keeps on giving. 🤣
I don't think any of their 'big signings' were really that big. Mahoney, a lesser hooker than ours. Kikau, perhaps could have been a big signing but has missed most the season and rated about even as Papallii.
Then who? Ryan Sutton, an English international, but couldn't cement his spot in the Raiders 17. And some reserve graders.
Hardly loading up on just about everyone and still no 7 or 1.
I'm with Tucker, constantly pointing to the Bulldogs and saying what about them is deflecting from facing our own failures.
