Going, Going, almost Gone

The Gold Coast has become a place where rugby league careers go to flounder with the Titans unable to attract fans or retain talent.
Good luck to whoever steps into the coaching hot seat next

Their squad is actually good.

They have solid, hard working forwards and fast, exciting backs.

I'd argue their issue is inconsistency in the spine, lots of chopping and changing.

Foran is at the end of his career and their better spine players like Campbell & Kini have been injured.

I find Brimson to be very over rated also.
They need a halfback - which is interesting because a stat was posted that the entire top 4 at the moment will have halves that were let go by the titans - Sexton, Fogarty, Tanah Boyd and Jarome Hughes. If they could land a decent 7 their spine, full strength, isn't looking that bad and their team, overall is very competitive.

1. Keanu Kini
6. Jayden Campbell
7. Position vacant
9. Sam Verrills [good player]

Brimson a 14 or centre for mine.

One of the better coaches of the last 20 years, but the game has passed him by.

I think Des sometimes tries to be to smart and it's abit beyond the player's

But he has chopped and changed his team around alot and for me Jayden at halfback is a no he must be 5/8 and if they had there time over getting Sexton for next year would be smart good fit with Jayden

But they have a top 8 team on paper

Big fan of what he achieved at Manly and Bulldogs.

He leaned heavily into sports science and tactical stuff but his biggest error may have been that he never developed emotional connections or the psychology of the players. Of late, sports psychology has modernised almost at the rate of physical sports science.

Players of this era need more cuddles that’s for sure

I'm not sure if you have negative connotation to cuddles but in general players play better when they're happier. When they're given the right reason, discipline, confidence and assurity, they play better. That's something Wayne Bennet does better than most.

Hasler probably didn't believe in all that as much as your new age coaches like Holbrook, Cleary, AOB, Ciraldo etc
