Grand Final tickets - who is getting them?

I got category B tickets this morning. Bay 121.

Tried for category A but nothing in the lower tier on the sideline, only higher up. Too far away.

This whole getting first option for GF tickets for members is a scam.
They sell the worst tickets in each category first and keep the good ones till later. I tried buying A reserve and the only tickets available were right at the back on the 4th or 5th level to the side. I tried first thing this morning. The same thing happened last year.

Later on i've been able to get better tickets
I suspect it's a strategy to sell all the tickets.

That's actually not true. I used to work for Ticktek. Members are given first dibs and the whole stadium is made available to members.

Yes you may have logged on at 9am but so have members from 17 other clubs booking online, agencies and phone.

How high up the ladder were you? Do you really have clearance to know what goes on.

I ask you then, how come when it goes on sale to the general public i'll get better tickets?

Hey Icon,

What do you mean by "better"? As in 50m line first level up? It can be subjective is all. I can only speculate as to what happened with yourbooking but a possibility is @ 9am thousands of people book at the same time and say for example you get row z and other people are booking (putting in their cc, name, adress etc) and then decide "hey i dont want those seats" they will obviously be released if they dont hit submit. And you may perhaps go back in 10mins later and get row a or b or c or d because other people have relseased it. Conversely somone else may get your row z tickets because you released them.

I think at the endeveryone is different. Some people may prefer to be closer to the field and behind the goals or some may prefer higher up (grandstand) but on the 50m line.

but tbh getting seats 50m line 1st level up i.e s108 is very ahrd to get because it gets booked within 60 seconds. So 9:01am most of the seats 20-50m line are gone (you wont get 50m line down close to the field in general public)

Hope that helps mate. PM me if you want.

I logged in at 9am ( I was actually refreshing for 1 minute before so was bang on 9am) and got 2 tix on the fifty metre line 17th row. Couldn't ask for any better. Now just need the Tiges to do the right thing.

Theres also now a buy-back scheme been in place the last cpl years, where you can sell early bought tickets back to the NRL for face value

That's a very good idea.

No watto…calm down....In the past theyve kept 7000 tickets for the week before the GF, just wait til then - you'll know beforehand if we make it and you can arrange a bed

Is that 7,000 tickets for each team in the grandfinal?

dude, section 121 is category d behind the posts.

i just bought my ticket online on the ticketek website. i got category b section 101-2\. its not directly behind the posts. it's kind of in the corner but with a bit of elevation which is good. i am hoping wests tigers or wests magpies or both make the grandfinal. if one of those sides don't make the grandfinal i might still go, but if i decide i don't want to i would probably find someone to sell my ticket too anyway.

Do they keep 7,000 tickets altogether, or 7,000 tickets for each team that makes the grandfinal?

So Icon, have you bought your tickets yet? and how did you go? is only single seats left in both a and b reserve

Even with Parra being in the GF last year I was still able to get tickets Monday night so I could watch BRET and the NYC squads run around. Behind the posts 8 rows from the front

In 2005 I slept outside a Ticketek office and got great seats.

I never jinx it by pre-purchase. Just my superstition

I slept outside Castle Hill ticketek, was 22nd in line….got there about 1am, was a game of cricket in progress....never forget it.

But I thought only Parra and Melb members would have been able to get the tickets on the Monday last year?

For the b reserve there are still tickets in the lower level though. Atleast there was this morning.

There was another pre-sale that day after close of business

Are a certain amount of tickets saved for supporters of the NSW Cup teams that make the grandfinal?
