If you have a grievance with the way this forum is setup or run, the moderators, other forum members or anything like that and you wish for the issue to be discussed in public with the moderators and/or other forum members, then please air them here.

We will take all issues raised seriously. This thread is about making this place better and letting everyone have a say in how it's run.

i thought we were going to get a wt jersey pic near our avatar with a number on it depending when we joined the forum .eg. if you were the 6th person to join the forum you get a number 6 on the jersey

The only grievance I have had was a couple of weeks ago I think it was the Friday game after titans . I was still new at starting new topics and Kul said about posting in the right area . I replied that where was the right area and got no reply from any Mods . Worked it out myself , but issue was if I couldn't work it out( I am not computer savvy) what was I to do ?? PS Kul not having a go at you either you ok

Thanks happy, this is the kind of stuff that I want to see in this thread as too many people barrel up their feelings then lash out at the mods when things don't go their way, when really it doesn't have to end up like that.

I remember that thread and would have moved it to the correct sub-forum but was using RoarFEED (it doesn't have access to the "move thread" option). You are new to it all so it's understandable.

Recently a few forum regulars were given the power to move threads and they've been told to do it when necessary.

The now closed "factions" thread saw a lot of posts, including mine that were deleted - one of which consisted of one word: "yawn."
Other posts from very prolific posters went unchecked.
IMO the Forum's rules were not applied even handedly when posts were deleted.

That post would have been deleted for being spam - as in added nothing to the discussion. If you have nothing to add, then don't. Simple

I can't comment on the first one as I wasn't involved, but the point about banning I can respond to.

People do get banned but I've personally made an effort to see this be a last resort or used only when there are serious issues like direct threats to safety, etc. One of the big complaints from 07/08 was the perceived 'nazi' attitude towards anyone that spoke out against the club or anyone else. How many times did we see the line "If the mods don't like it, they just ban you" get thrown around? Now people are free to express themselves here even if it's contrary to popular opinion.

What DOES happen is users being put on mod-preview which means all of their posts have to get approved by a mod. There are several people on it now. You probably aren't aware of it which is perhaps an indication that it's a system that works well. This may be temporary or permanent.

Regardless of this, it's a big call to ban someone who clearly has as much love for the club as the next person.

I'd be interested to know who you think deserves being banned though MacDougall. PM?

Are the people on mod review notified they are on Mod review ??

yes

but it's pretty obvious anyway, a big notice appears when ever you submit a post

OK … well, just so you know, several one word or a single emoticon posts were deleted, as spam. Several other posts with personal attacks, disguised swearing, etc, were also deleted. You would actually be surprised if you knew just how many posts were deleted from that thread and whose posts they were. There was no bias shown.

As Kul has said, previously we got slandered all about the place for being too strict, now we're unfair? Honestly, we can't win.

Question Mods (or any who can answer) Wondered about the Hidden on the forum Have looked for info about this but never found any . What does it all mean (not being stupid seriously)??

I disagree with that. I had plenty of posts deleted but all of mine were in response to a thread that was obviously a personal attack against me. In my opinion I simply retaliated against a poster who used under-handed tactics. I feel I have the right to stand up for myself in those situations.

I don't do it and I expect the same courtesy to be offered to myself.

Fair enough if it was disguised swearing but why was the whole thread allowed to even be started when it was pretty obvious what it was about.

When you log in you can click "sign in as hidden". It means you don't appear in the "online now" list.

Thanks Kul And that means you are hidden from all I guess including MODs

I can see you, but no one else can

it's just a way of hiding your "online" status.

Nope. Mods can see all hidden users too.
