Wests Tigers utility Dene Halatau has been named as captain for the Club's Round 11 match against the North Queensland Cowboys on Saturday, May 23.

Halatau, who was part of the original 2005 Grand Final winning team against the Cowboys, will line up for his first game as captain of the Club, and said that he felt honoured and excited to be able to lead the team out this Saturday night against the high-flying Cowboys.

Congratulations Dene….Great Clubman....has been great this Year...

You could pick any of the first thirteen and they "would be honoured to Captain the WTs"….
Big deal I hope he leads by example and not by name..because he was in the 05 winning GF team...we need a win not a lot of palava ....

Congratulations Dene …. A great honour and a very worthy recipient.

I'm sure Dene will do a great job, sorry if I sounded a bit negative…..it's just that I would like this team to gel and step up and show the world that we are a force to reckon with in the not so distant future...once again forumers sorry for the negative input...

Look on reading that Halatau is captain , Lawrence must be doubtful in my opinion

Nothing against Dene at all , just don't think he will play 80 minutes

And explains why Hoeter has been named

Yes Happy I looked twice when I Saw Hoeter named on the bench must be a cloud over someone in backline more than likely Lawrence due to Gidleys unreportable tap. We have an extended bench so who knows what the team will end up looking like come run on. Nonetheless all the best to Dene as he leads the team onto the field.

Without taking anything away from Dene, Lawrence should of been named Captain…. Poor Form from Taylor.

Congrats Dene, a proud honour captaining a team that has played a major part in your career.

Carve them Up!
