Seemed to be lots of little kids out last night.

Quality of costumes seems to have gone down hill though. A number of kids just walking around with their faces painted white, or with whiskers painted on, or just a headband with cat ears. Putting a headband on is not a costume.

I remember trick or treating 20 years ago and some houses were into it, while others had no idea what was going on. We told them we dress up, you give us lollies. Some obliged, some gave us fruit :/, some gave us the entire box of paddlepops they had in the freezer for their grand kids.

All in all a bit of harmless fun, until the teenagers come out and start egging. Don't know why any parent would have a problem with it really. Kids are always supervised (when young) and it lets them get a bit creative with costume, fancy dress and makeup. Just try make sure they don't eat it all at once!

Heaps of kids don't make the effort anymore. Like Ink said, some just strut around in their school uniforms.

I must be pretty close to being the first person to ever host a Halloween party in Australia - it was 1981\. I just had to have one after spending 3 months in America when I was 19, but missing out on experiencing Halloween because my flight home was booked on the 31st Oct! The travel agent that organised our flights never told us about Halloween and how big it was in the US, and being Aussies we had no idea - mongrels :angry:

I don't care much for it these days, too much hype and consumerism like everything else. I think it's a bit of fizzer here anyway, much like Valentine's Day. I only had 3 kids turn up on Monday and they were from the one family. And I can never get it right - when I don't buy the lollies heaps of kids turn up, when I do buy the lollies, hardly anyone turns up and I end up eating them all myself! That would never happen in America. Why do we always have to try and copy America's BS traditions anyway? Next we'll be having Thanksgiving!

Funny that, I say the same thing about the Resurrection, parting the Red Sea & feeding thousands of hungry with a few fish and loaves of bread.

As for the Jesus stuff, I guess we will all one day find out if this guy who so polarizes mankind like no other was legit of a fable.

Spartan if you have that link I wouldn't mind seeing that , I read something about how someone was claiming for have found the stone that was covering Christ's final resting place , I'll see if I can dig that up as well

That storie's been doing the rounds on the Internet for 15 years. It's a hoax started by a satirical website that keeps getting picked up and rehashed every couple of years as if it just happened.

I guess with most things it is not going to go away and will only get bigger, but I do not support it

Yeah we didn't have any at our end of town, I did take the dog for a walk and saw kids on the other side of town walking around but that's near the primary school so I assume more kids live down that way.
