Handling of Contracts

I have to say, I've been really disappointed over the last year about how we handle contract negotiations on a practical level.

Forget who we sign, that's another conversation. Last year we let Moltzen go. He signs a contract. We then re-neg on that signed contract and keep him for ourselves.

Beau Ryan claimed he had a deal sorted out, yet didn't put pen to paper? If in April he had signed on for 3 years, why would you not draft up the paperwork?

Maybe I'm just kicking them when they're down. To me though, if you can't get the little things right, it's a big sign something is amiss.

I totally agree with you. The club seems very amateur and unprofessional when it comes to contracts. The instances you've mentioned are spot on. And the fact we fail to attract big name signings shows how impotent we are at negotiating a big contract.

Who is responsible for this sort of stuff? Humpty Dumpty or Warren 'Jabba the Hut' McDonnell?

Both of you are correct.

The problem is STEPHEN HUMPHREYS.

I know of some management related promises he made to someone and reneged on them all. I wont go into details.

Anyway, I have no doubt it was this inability to stick to his word that caused the Molzten dilemma at the start of this year. Also, Heighington was ready to sign a 3 year deal with Penrith last year until Humpreys told him that the Tigers wanted him to stay. Naturally, Heighno thought he had job security at the Tigers and took Humphreys' word on it. When it came to extend his contract, in true Humphreys fashon, he reneged again. Heighno is now forced to secure his financial future at another club. He would have been at Penrith right now with 2 years left on his contract.

Beau Ryan, again Humphreys promised him a 3 year deal and Beau took his word….Humphreys reneged again!

in my opinion, Stephen humphreys is the one that needs to go so we can get a more professional operator.
