Hastings lock

That’s an interesting statement.
Hastings will play much the same game regardless of his number. Same with Brooks. I liked the way Doueihi played with the 6 jersey.
My favourite combo is..
Brooks 6
Hastings 7
Doueihi 13
Doueihi has a good eye for opportunity and has a better running game than Hastings, while Hastings strength is his organisational reading of the game.

AD is a real threat in attack.

He'll create something for sure.
And He'll only get better the longer he plays at 6

I agree that AD was our best player in attack except for that chip ahead. I just wonder if part of brooks confidence has been damaged by Maguire’s boring set play. Similar to the scarecrow‘Taylor ball’ has he hamstrung brooks so long that he has been leached of all confidence?? I really think in the first half if that try just before halftime was awarded with a cracking pass from brooks, he would of lifted another gear and we would have won easily….

We could really use his skills at 13. If he chose to make that position his for a couple of seasons, he could put himself in the frame as a replacement for Yeo in the Blues squad. IMO.

JH is needing to sell his skills in case a better offer from another club comes up.
With this in mind I think him playing lock isn't doing him any favours...or is it?
He doesn't appear to have been upset by the move.
I don't know where we are heading with this and what JH future with us will be.
All I know is he is a real competitor and I want him to stay.

I feel positive that he will honour his contract. He's a real professional and an asset to any team.
From the current squad if we're down with a minute left on the clock, he's the guy I want in my team.

Exactly champ.
He is what's been missing from our side for years.
You talk about club DNA, well JH, JOFFA and AD are the type of players we need to build our side around.
They hate losing and will not go down without a fight.

You nailed it Cobar, I would also include Maumalo in that group. I like what he brings to the team.
I’m not confident we can hang onto JH, based on our history of moving on anyone who shows some on field leadership, but for sure, if you took a blood sample of those you mention , that’s the B positive group. 😜

in a good system Hadtings could play lock e.g. Roosters or storm

You of all people know that through experience mate 👍
True determination is a gifted trait.
When picking a captain you need to look for this quality.
When AD did his knee he knew it was bad and as he walked off the field he was so distraught. He knew he couldn't compete anymore. He showed how much he loves footy.
When we announced the 5 captains I was gob smacked.
Soldiers for thousands of years have been spurred on by a leader, a figure head.
You need 1 leader who stands out from the rest. Someone who is visibly a win at all cost man. Someone who loves his club and his teammates.

True. Your edges need to work overtime if your lock isn't up to it but having said that, JH put in a solid performance first time around.
JT I was eluding to the fact that if we want to keep him, do we persist playing him out of his preferred position.
Can you get a read whether he likes that position?
It is good for depth knowing that he can fill in there if say Joffa is injured.
