Have the Tigers played well ??

I want to ask does any one think the Tigers played well so far this year …... to be honest i dont think they have in parts they put together 10 15 20 minutes but i dont think they have played well and they have won 4 games lucky against Manly Canberra and Cowgirls and Parra good.... but Parra was not at there best

I think they have played bad and won i think they will click soon and they will finish the season playing strong which is the best time to show what you have

Para wasn't at their best because we smashed them! We got in their faces and didn't let them breathe! We played extremely well that night and in all honesty, should have won by ALOT more.

We've played well this season imo (bar the roosters game). We've shown an improved defence and we've had the right players firing. I think loosing Moltzen caused a bit of instability (on the field and with Sheens), but i think the bye round came at a perfect time and we'll be right against the rabittoh scum.

I think our best win was against parra we seemed to play for nearly the full 80mins, agree we play well in patches as do a lot of other sides eg Manly, But I think we will improve. Our D has been fantastic and the highlight of the first 8 games we just need to do the simple things right, big long kicks..goal kicking..ball control…silly penalties need to stop..and it would be nice to maybe save our kicking till the last tackle and maybe just maybe put up a bomb every now and then. Im not too worried atm but if we lose our next 3 games I will be.

Yeah CB…..right on...trouble is the current Wests Tigers side plays that way about 1 in 7.....good news is we are due to put in a dominate take no prisoners display against Souff's...

In parts. We sweem to be either great in attack and poor in defence, poor in attack and great in defence or good in attack and defence with hopeless ball control and discipline.

Still waiting for a complete performance, against Parra we were close.

Same old story. Inconsistent. I can't work out the continual issues we have with it. Melbourne don't do it, the Dragons don't do it, the Titans don't do it. So you can be consistent, we just don't have the formula despite the attention we give it.

Also the biggest concern for me is our side under the high ball… we've lost 2 games directly and although I don't know the stats, we'd surely have the worst diffusal rate in the comp... We fix that and it'll go a long way imo

The Titans also don't do it with their specialist halfback missing for a month.

The Titans also don't do it with their coach making changes in major positions (i.e Campbell to #7) and still manage to beat the Storm and Manly.

It's only an issue at the WT.

Our defence this year has been fantastic. It's finally good to see us playing with a forward pack that I can trust and that can hold out another team i.e. vs Dogs.

I think there is a structural problem in attack. There's no fulcrum, it seems we are kind of looking for someone to stand up but no-one is taking that opportunity. We know Benji doesn't play well if he is thinking about being BOTH a halfback and a 5/8th, so we really need to find a halfback that Benji can trust in order to rectify this. I think Lui, given time, could provide this.

There are other decisions like bench spots and certain players being picked, but overall, I think that core lack of direction in attack, and in critical moments, is letting us down.

Have we played well though? Yes. Defence is good, we have come from behind twice, something we're not accustom to. We haven't lost close close matches (except roosters, but I mean its down from previous years) and we're lucky that there are, IMO, 7 teams that cannot make the 8\. I think its all good.

2010 has been an improved performance from 2009\. Very few teams play 'well' for 80 minutes week in, week out. Football is a game built on Momentum, Possession and Guile.

We all know that when the Tigers have momentum with the ball in hand, they are specials to put plenty of points on. Momentum is also built in defence. This is an area that the Tigers have improved out of sight. The positives of our defence in 2010 has been our biggest improvement. While we havnt had some of the best calls from officials, we have still maintained good momentum in games. = 7/10

Possession is another form of building momentum, but possession is also an integral part of wearing down the opposition. When the Tigers have possesion for mutiple sets, once again points follow. The area were we fall down with possession is discipline. Our discipline hasnt been the best in certain patches this year. None more evident than in the Penrith & Roosters game. Maintaining possession in our own 30 is cruicial to launch a platform to gain momentum and the stats clearly show we are stuggling in this area. Without suggesting we blunt the Tigers flair, we need to focus on basics within our own half to build positive momentum. The other area where we have lacked possession is working the Reset. In 2010, we have only gained 14 resets. Of these resets, only 5 were 'worked resets'. An area we need to work harder at to ensure we maintain possession and momentum. = 4/10

As you can see, our defence in 2010 has improved out of sight. We are competing on the ground and have real Guile hunting as a pack. While we have shown signs of lazy defence throughout some games, it is our defence which has kept us competitive within the 80 minutes game to game. Hunting as a pack, sticking up for your mates are 2 things which has galvanised the team to allow the Tigers to score points against the run of play, without the 'special' play from Benji and co. If the Tigers are to be competitive in the last 6 weeks of the competition, the Tigers Guile will be the difference from 2009 and 2008\. = 8/10

All up, while some of the matches havnt gone to plan, the Tigers are well placed and are a real threat in this competition once they settle on a Halfback to compliment Robbie and Benji. 2010 = 7/10

Its reminding me a lot of 07 season.

Sure we lost the first 4 games that year but we won 6 in a row playing badly (Which means like this year, we were 4-4 with a bye).

We had some injuries and players missing in 07, and we also didn't have a halfback back then like at the moment.

I remember when we were winning that year, the coach kept saying we are playing poorly, and everyone in the media plus us fans kept thinking, if we're winning while playing crap, then imagine how good we will be when we put it together.

The thing was, we never did put it together in 07 and things got worse, I'm worried that might happen this year.

One major difference between now and 07 was Robbie Farah. He was outstanding in 07 and really any win the Tigers had that year was based around what he was doing. Still shake my head thinking about the last two rounds in 07.
