why were the commentators making such a big deal of what the referee originally called?
they were realy going out of their way to say that the drop-out had already been called,and that they hoped going to the video-ref wasn't coz the Tigers players had pressured the ref.Players go to the ref every week telling him to check for a try :wtf
i thought as long as they get the decision right in the end thats all that matters

Rabs as usual showing his senility calling it a "simultaneous grounding"….never seen a ball grounded with the hand under the ball before.
Phil Haines really stuffed up there and thankfully this is one situation where the two ref system has proved useful

I cant believe anyone talking about how the tigers made the decision or that they bullied the ref.

It was a clear try. What do you want them to do get up and go oh well. had the ref gone to the video for the utai knock on early we may have picked up some points there as well (there was fingers on it..)

End of the day if they get the decision right then who cares. Sure you shouldnt run at the ref and blow up, but in this case when you can check it its fine. You didnt see farah run at the ref when he apparently knocked on from dummy half in the first half, cause theres nothing you could do about it. But in this instance, you can check it so I dont see the big deal.

Had it not been awarded, and theyd showed a replay, everyone would just be talking about how bad the ref was.

Freddy wears his heart on his sleeve which I didnt mind but Rabbs sure was whinging a lot in their favour.

Both Utai's and Heighno's tries should have been given and if it wasnt for the second ref, niether would have been. That may have thrown the boys off their game a bit and we could have got a totally different result.

I think Rabs is past his used by date. Someone needs to tell him it is not "All about him". When he talks it's like he pauses as if he is waiting for the whole world to be quiet and then stand at full attention waiting for his every wise word.

They were talking about it on the Roast today saying the Penrith player got the ball first so it should of been a line drop out.

I see it differently, I thought it was a try but I don't see it as simultaneous either. Imagine if the Penrith player was standing upright and Heighington came over and slapped it out of his hands, grounding the ball, grounding the ball in the process. The commentators would be saying its a try because its a one-on-one strip.

That's how I see it, it was a one-on-one strip, the Panther's player didn't ground the ball and Heighington with his hand coming over the top, stripped it from his hands, grounding the ball in the process, the Panther's player did not have control of the ball because of that, while Heighington did.

So it's a try from a one-on-one strip in my opinion.

I didn't see it as simultaneous at all. Heighington was the only player to put downward pressure on the ball.

Defender didn't have control of the ball, and Rhino grounded it… Don't have to be a rocket surgeon to figure that one out.

I don't think it was the Tigers players that made the ref change the decision, it was the second referee who obviously had a better view and more common sense that said it should be checked.
