Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens said **today's training session would tell whether fullback Wade McKinnon was ready to take his place in the side for the game against South Sydney at ANZ Stadium tomorrow night. McKinnon has been out of action with a hamstring injury recently, and still has to prove his fitness.**
''I'll leave that one to the medical staff and the player after we train tomorrow,'' Sheens said. **''Daniel Fitzhenry, Mitch Brown and Beau Ryan are all on standby as fullback options.''**

It appears likely five-eighth Benji Marshall will be the first-choice goalkicker for the Tigers despite sacking himself at half-time of the game against Cronulla last Saturday, but Sheens said a final decision was yet to be made. Centre Chris Lawrence is the only other option. The Rabbitohs are intact.

I don't want to bag Fitzy but his form doesn't warrant selection.

Honestly how can Benji even be considered for kicking duties….4 from 14 in recent matches........... It is a deadset mircale that hasn't cost us a game yet.

Wow how could fitzy be considered as a replacement Tim should know by now that he isnt a first grade player and if he dosent know the ceo should tell him

I'd rather Fitzy over Brown… At least Daniel has a go!!!

Wade McKinnon... Get Well for Saturday 😛ray:

Restore some Pride!!!

Has a go but offers nothing from fullback. Zero talk, zero ability to read a line break.

It's like picking a one legged man in your 100m relay team because he trys hard and shows some moxy.

Sheens and his mind games…that's with our own players... 😕

At least we will get an idea of who is actually calling the shots....

Brown comes in for mine if McKinnon is out...Train well Wade... 😛ray:

The telegraph says that Mckinnon trained strongly all week and will play
go figure

Have to disagree there Watto. Fitzy has clearly dogged it and stolen oxygen in several games this year, the most recent being against Manly where he offered nothing from the back, not even a bit of talk to assist the Tigers in getting their defensive line in order.

I suppose what I really was saying is I dont want either of them… Brown also offered nothing last week, and didnt seem interested....How do you not get interested playing your old club???

We have Geoff to come into the wing and easily move Beau to the back. Bring someone like Davis onto the bench where you get good universal value, or a young kid from the 20's to get the flu sitting down there???

Ideally, Wade will play...

Wade at 1.

If not Wade, move Ryan. He's been relatively reliable at fullback this year.

Doesn't matter who we pick if Wade isn't available, they're all shaky under the high ball so I'd pick Ryan because he's shown the most there (inability to diffuse bombs aside.)

Sadly enough Fitzhenry has probably looked best out of all of them under the high ball (McKinnon aside).

This is true, however, in other aspects of the game he just doesn't measure up as a fullback. He's lost his pace, rarely takes on the line, and when he does he goes to ground way too easily. I like him, but he should not be picked ahead of Ryan, Brown, McKinnon or Daniela.

I don't see any of them as great fullbacks apart from Wade McK. If he's out I'd just as soon give Lote a game back there and play Ryan and Daniela or Brown on the wing.

Meaney due back for BRET next week I believe…..

Mitch Brown has been closest to the squad ....Sheens loves cohesion....Ryan to fullback...

Mate don't misunderstand but if that is the best of the bunch …...

I think he is still our best option at the moment. I realise he has the worst percentage in the NRL, but until there is a real viable option who is proven to be better… I will stick with Benji. Maybe.... sorry... definitely not the popular option I know, but if he kicks his first one from the sideline his confidence will change and could get on a roll for the finals.

This is my imagination running wild.

Benji is a very inconsistent goal kicker but he is the best in our FG side. Confidence seems to be his problem. The fact we don't score too many close to the posts doesn't help. Why do people continue to be amazed he kicks and demand another kicker? He is the best option. Not the greatest, but our best. Would you prefer Gibbs, Galloway or Heighington kicking at goal.

No but I would prefer Sheens bring a goal kicker into the side. It's not like the team is perfect and everyone deserves their place.

At this stage Ryan, Ayshford, Lui, Dwyer, Fifita, Daniela could all be swapped for someone who can kick goals and play in their position and it wouldn't affect the team too much.
