Hooker position - Thread

Have to say I think the position of hooker is letting us down. I dont think we can carry a less than 80 minute hooker in the 17\. Is Liddle the answer- dont know, but I'm feeling he has a long way to go. Do we have an alternate for this season? Do we need to get one for next season?

The stop gap of Taylor didnt work, yes theoretically Marshall / Reynolds could fill the gap but…. and McIlwrick seems out of favour for whatever reason and Godinet didnt really work either.

IMHO we have a problem now and for next season if we cant get it right..
 
It's tough one. We have no one. No doubt a definate problem.

Did Liddle get hooked or was something wrong with him? He was shocking the time he was on.

Liddle will be a decent NRL hooker in time, but he is a long long way off atm.
 
once reynolds is ready for 80 he will be fine in the 9
 
Our attack is sharper with Liddle - he provides the best service by far. Reynolds service isn't very good but he definitely brings energy and another ball playing option if he shifts out into the backline for set plays.

I think Taylor can't play at hooker anymore as long as those two are fit. I think if someone's going to be on the outer it might be even be Taylor if we move Eisenhuth to 13 and bring Sue/Grant onto the bench as our 4th prop.
 
I think we need to buy a quality 80 min hooker ASAP.. I really don't rate Liddle as starting hooker.. Maybe a bench hooker at best..
There has to be a better hooker somewhere as ET does not work at ALL in hooker.
 
Nathan "little Wayne" Brown was saying he is trying to turn his inconsistent team of 30-40 game players into seasoned first graders and it is tough.

Liddle has shown enough to be given a season or two to show if he has it. It doesn't happen overnight. For comparison this was close to his worst game and it would have been one of Danny Levi's best.

On what I've seen of him, shows promise but at this stage far from one of the best in NSW
 
Liddle is our best no9 and he will only get better by playing at NRL level week in and week out. JR is certainly went better as back up D/H than anyone else has this year

Exactly, the sooner we get Reynolds at 6 the better for everyone, Brooks will really shine with Benji out of the picture.
And Liddle, he had a huge chance today to make a statement, and he bombed it in great style.
