Hookers

I still think dolphins will make a play forearly release and liddle next year to dogs
These are things i could definitely see happening.

Need to let Rua and Tannous develope this year in case they're needed in 2023.

Also Peachy is an option.

I'd be keeping Jake S. For 2023.

I'm not against keeping Jake, But he's obviously back up for Api next year and beyond...
And I think we could really get something for him...

Imagine swapping him for Olokau'atu or a barnstorming backrower / centre....
As I said, There's a few clubs looking for a 9.
We won't be lost without him, and there's slim pickings in back row and centre for us next year....

Hopefully the club comes trumps for us (for once)

Interesting.
He hasn't shown any attacking traits in his limited game time so far (and he made 50+ tackles in his debut). Would like to see what he offers with the footy this season.
Takes time for a kid to adjust to first grade, especially at dummy half. He's scored a try or two in first grade and provided some good service to help set up tries too.

For sure. I wasn't having a go at him, just stating that he hasn't shown a whole lot in attack so far. He is a solid unit so pace isn't going to be his forte, wondering how his ballplaying and guile will adapt to 1st grade.

Tough one to manage with keeping the right ones when Api is on board for next 2 years.

Jaycob Anjoul also has big wraps on him. Just need to see how he bounces back from his ACL injury.

I think we might see a development contract or 2 for the likes of Rua (possibly Top 30), Tannous, Anjoul depending on how the year goes for 2023/2024 seasons.

I also think Liddle gets moved on at end of the season.

Yeah I get ya, all we can do is hope that he and our other rookies come good

I quite like the Api signing. Lids and Simpkin no there - a couple of kids pushing (Rua Anjoul). Api for a couple years lets us choose which one will step up and trade. like everyone said. many clubs need a 9

Forgot about Anjoul...

Our hooker stocks have so much promise.
Think we back the young guns - Rua, Anjoul and Tannous.

Mentored by Api and Farah.

Liddle & Simpkin negotiated trades to strength our team.

TBH though the young game hasn't served us well historically. We either stay invested in perennially injury prone blokes that hardly lace on a boot for us or we develop a gun only to be pillaged by say a Roosters.
Retention has to lift markedly if we are to go down the path of developing youngsters (that and getting much better at the under-the-table game). Or else it's a massive waste of time, commitment and $$$$.
So sick of us developing talent only to be bent over by clubs offering "extras".

We let Liddle go whenever we get a decent trade offer.
We can work with Simpkin,Rua and Peachey playing hooker with API coming next year. Tua's service is excellent and his ability to play 80 mins and play in the back row make him a must keep.

I've been saying for years how his style reminds me of Brandon Smith. Energy, workrate, Passion, leadership and a love for the club.

Any discussion of Tannous or Anjoul at this stage is absurd. Neither have finished a match in the last 12 months. You don't make decisions on NRL squads based on what a player does when they're 17
