Jamil Hopoate has been jailed for at least one year over the drunken, brutal and unprovoked attack of a man outside a Sydney pub. A shaken Leonie Ryan reveals to Justin Smith how father John lashed out at the media.

This guy is a total embarrasment to himself, how his other son Will is related to this family is beyond me…must be adopted.
 
I have no idea how Will Hopoate fits into that family. One of the nicest gentleman you will ever meet.

Whatever happened to Albert. He came up through the lower grades with us and looked like a star, turned down a massive contract offer from the Roosters cos he wanted to play fg with his cousin Willie Manu then disappeared off the face of the earth.
 
over paid rugby league jerks to much time on there hands blokes in jail clubs crawling over one and other for his signature. same old excuse they were drunk a ban of 2 or 3 years out of the game watch them fall into line

Another star performance from an NRL player in the publics eye and an idol to many kids….have a look at the SIRE,not much class about him.....

I suppose we should thank John for putting us WTs in the limelight and he only had to use his finger....

What was the extent of Jamil Hopoate's NRL career, 0 games I believe, I thought all Mormon's were clean living honest hard working family people, I bet the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints could disassociate themselves from this family but they don't gamble either.
Send the father and Jamil to the west coast of Africa on a missionary mission immediately to help deal with the ebola epidemic, it could give them a realistic lesson on life itself.
 
Mate of mine towelled hoppa up in a cage fight a couple years ago. Hoppa was explosive for a couple minutes then had nothing. Was great viewing.

Will has to be adopted. Seems such a level headed, considerate & pious kid compared to some of the others in that clan.
 
The justice system got the sentencing right in this case and lets hope a message goes out to some of these young guy who after a few drinks want to go round and smash people.

It would also be nice to see Hopa senior being read the riot act after his carry on outside the court.

There's a fine line between Human and animal,he is definitely on the animal side....
 
it's obvious that the reptilian part brain in his brain - is his forte.
I don't blame him at all - the parenting skills must be looked at - and there are exceptions.
Not in this case though.
