Hostile Reception for Melbourne Storm

I would suggest something novel instead, how about they run out to absolute silence with the Tigers fans turning their backs to them.

that's an excellent idea, I think that has more impact too

**They were successful because they were better coached and developed as players.** Money doesn't buy premierships, so many clubs have found that out over the years.
As I said I can't believe the low comments aired on this topic. Doesn't say much for the mentality of those who posted these disgusting remarks.

This part I agree with you on. But… History will now show the only reason they were so successful was the fact they kept there stars by over paying them. On this point they cheated....

I'm not fused with the whole over paying thing. I truely believe the current Salary Cap is a joke and I dont believe Clubs should be put into a position where they have to lose thier developed talent. But I will support those who choose to take the line that they are Cheats and would like to voice there concerns....

I'm gona bring along my Spoons simply to be part of a Gee Up and hope it inspires everyone else to jump on the bandwagon to cheer the Mighty Tigers Home!!!

True Alien. But it looks ugly when fans get in the faces of opposition and if they don't show restraint could lead to trouble. I just reckon really getting behind the team, and putting pressure on the ref is the ebst atmosphere at Leichhardt. Booing the lieks of Slater for kicking Skandalis in the head would be on the menu. But getting carried away with flashing money, or spoon or cheat calls in their faces. A bit of banter regarding the free boat or vouchers, sure. But you don't want vile fans that are turning up more ready to boo the Storm then get right behind the Tigers, That would be a bit of an ugly atmosphere for mine.

Amen brother :master:

This isn't the Melbourne forum, get a sense of humour. It's not like anyone is planning on physically harming them.

And speaking of toys, how about a few toy boats?…

It's worked for other teams, might as well give it a shot

I agree with Leroy - turn our back and remain silent. Treat them with the same contempt as they treated the rest of the NRL. Everyone expects yelling and abuse. Silence would have far more impact.

Jet what are you on mate. geez the players all new they were cheating so did the coach so they deserve all that is coming their way.

When you are playing the Storm the last thing you want to do is give them extra motivation. We have a lot more important things to worry about rather than spend the arvo slinging off at the storm. We need to pumping our team up, their are two very important points up for grabs. We need to win and win big

Spot on !!! I know there are innocent parties in there but they know they are part of a team so for mine are all tarred with the one brush !!! I think its a bit different to drug taking scandals as somehow trying to cook the books in itself always seems to have a sort of funny side …... how they've tried to concoct a sytem to try and outsmart everyone and did so for a very long time until someone finally blew the whistle then the house of cards all came tumbling down. With drug scandals there is no funny side full stop.

I don't think the Storm players could care less what the Tigers fans have to say. In fact, this whole saga will probably bring their club and their local community closer together in the long term. A real us against them sort of thing.

So I think we are well within our rights to let them know about it and give them a very warm welcome to Leichhardt come 2.00pm Sunday afternoon. They'll be disappointed if we dont !

Money definately helps buys premierships. If they didn't CHEAT they wouldn't have had such a strong side and probably wouldn't have had been able to keep all of their big 4 players. How can some of the player managers and players not of known what was happening? There were 2 contracts with different amounts on them. They were signed. They stopped other teams a chance of winning the comp those years, stopped another team from making the finals, stopped other teams from maybe picking up another quality player. They have put the game through the mud and you wonder why some people are p1ssed off???

JET can weave some baskets for Cam & Billy while his friends play bongoes and burn incense

Nancyboy Lane or Gaylord Terrace!!!

LMFAO!

Gobbsy….youre sounding very un-western suburbs you know

does the ground announcer have to acknowledge when melbourne score any points?
they are fielding an illegal team, why should any points they score be recorded at all??

The BSB with TK and Slats is a pretty boring show to listen to in the morning, but there is one good segment, when Cameron Smith comes on and tries to make himself look like a victim. Lol, its funny how a bloke who was the captain of this mob of cheats for a very long time up until the scandal broke comes out and tries to justify how the players knew nothing about it. There were 13 players who received additional payments from the club (including him), you can't tell me they players didn't know about it, they were part of the scheme, they should just do the honorable thing and admit they knew about the saga instead of spitting out tripe like Smith does. This gives me even more reason to boo these cheating bastards on Sunday.

Yeah, signing 2 contracts is "normal" getting match payments via Gift cards is "normal" a boat showing up on my driveway after a good game is "normal"

I disagree with booing them as much as I want to as I reckon this would only rile them up. I say we show no emotion at all, and try and get everybody in the crowd to turn their back and have them run on the pitch in silence. Admittedly it would be like them running out for a home match in melbourne, but why should we waste our breath and energy?? I'd rather give our lads the biggest cheer that they've ever heard, and once the match kicks off then not stop making noise the whole 80 mins, and then boo the cheating scum at the end.
Just my thoughts.
