How far away is Moses?

I know we have all been discussing who will take the #6 role, but I'm very curious how long it will be until Moses will be pushing hard for that spot. My thoughts are that once he hits a certain weight/size, fitness level and has the defensive technique he will push out whoever is in the #6\. Haven't seen a whole lot of him from U20 but from what people have told me he is as freakish as Brooks and the two of them have a killer combination.

So, when roughly does everyone think he will get to make his FG Debut? Post your thoughts below!

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say Round 19 - 2014

you asking or telling?
He's a while away from putting on enough size, But
My guess would be…
If there is no one left, Or late in the season if we can't make the finals!!
Anasta, Austin and Moltzen would all be miles in front of him ATM.
in his defence, His D is probably no worse than the 6 he's looking to replace... Man him up with a tackling machine... Problem solved!!

Yeah I was asking, maybe I'll re-word the post.

Yeah I reckon Anasta will get injured very early in the season, Austin will take his place and him and Moltzen will be fighting for a spot. Then for one reason or another Moses will get a crack and then all will be revealed

i dont think it's necessarily about his defence. more about risk of injury, putting in a 75kg 18 year old is NOT a wise move in today's game.

i'm very interested to see how his weight is travelling when profiles come out though. hopefully he can hit ~85kg midway through 2014 and then we can consider debuting him, depending on what's happening in FG.

He was shifted from 5/8 to fullback cause he was struggling with defence in the 20s, he is a mile off firsts.

The problem for Moses will be when he does put the extra weight on. Hi strengths are his running game with great speed and elusiveness, will these still be there if he puts another 8-10kgs on?

I saw most games he played in the 20s last year and there's no doubt he has a heap of talent and flair, which is why he complemented brooks so well. However he does also have some silly plays in him (which you don't worry about too much when he is 18) and his defence is also a concern.

I think he'll get his chance next year unless we are crippled with injuries at 6.

Looking at Mitch's body i cant see him putting on significant size. He has those David Peachey legs that stay skinny no matter what training and diet u do. He has nice height for a 5/8 and i dont see weight (lack of) as a problem. He needs time being injury free, thats the main issue. Once he has a few months injury free and is smashing his body week in week out his confidence will sky rocket.

Could he be the ideal bench player late in the season , providing heaps of spark off the bench 15-20 minutes a game

And then slowly build in 2015

Potter's comments about Temaire Martin are interesting in the other article though

Does Potter see him as our next 6 , not Moses ??

What's wrong with the old saying "if you are good enough you're old enough" ?…

the new saying is 'you're old enough if you're not putting yourself at high risk of a major injury/reinjuring yourself AND if you're good enough."

Let him have a injury free season in 20's where he can dominate then I would consider him for FG in 15 after a full pre season injury free at end of 14

nah start blooding him end of 2014 depending on where we are at as a team like with Keary or something.

I think physically he is a while away, he probably needs some further development in his game as well. He is a big play player, I reckon these guys often come on a little slower (barba, DCE)
Further more he may struggle with his frame his whole career, starting young could hurt.

The ability Moses has cannot be taught, you are born with it. I think we all hope he can stay injury free & get his chance sometime this year.

I think he is the ideal player for the nines just to get a taste of 1st grade. His defence is better than barba s & Milford's.
