Few pundits giving us a chance

Besides the Manly game, we've got a pretty decent run. The ball is in our court (which is never a good thing), we could finish 7th or 8th if we don't drop the ball.

Is this like say the ladder predictor thread...that is predicting where the ladder position for each team will be at the conclusion of the regular NRL season..if so 6th..

We have a fairly good run home, so we are a real chance of making it. However this the the position we find ourselves in just about every year and we somehow always manage to stuff it up. Would be nice if this year was different for a change, but losing the games we should easily win, along with the precious 2 points we need to make the 8, seems to be embedded into our psyche. Our crap F/A won’t help either, we don’t slaughter anybody, so finishing equal 8th on points won’t see us there.

They aren't asking you numbskull ......people with an ounce of knowledge give their opinion's on the Top 8

When they want your opinion they will scrape the bottom of the urinal early Saturday morning

2 teams we're competing with are on an odd number thanks to a draw, so F/A might not matter as much as it usually does.

We already have a thread tho..never mind..

Forget our F/A. Theres only ever been one way to guarantee yourself in the 8 and that is to win. All our games are winnable, even the Manly one at Lottoland. A lot of the teams around us are playing each other and teams above them on the ladder so it could change quite dramatically. The opportunity will be there for us, but i just don't think we will be good enough.

Penrith play Broncos, Sharks & Knights in their final 6 rounds, there'll be some points stolen between the teams there.

Knights have a rough draw, Eels, Manly, Penrith and Easts along with Cowboys and Titans.

Sharks have a less difficult run but still have to play Penrith, Souths and Canberra.

Broncos have the Storm, Penrith, Souths and Parra.

We're still a chance, but I am not optimistic.

We will miss by quite a bit unfortunately. We should be the cowboys tonight, Manly will smash us, we will drop the bulldogs game because that's what we do when we need to win, we will beat Newcastle, Saints is a 50/50 call and Cronulla will need to beat us for them to make the 8 which they will do.

We are gone

Depend what you mean by ‘good enough’. If you mean capable, I disagree. We have shown we are capable of matching it with the best - even beating them. If you mean consistent then I agree. We have not played well consistently since ...... well a very long time

And the might of the corrupt NRL. Just watch Broncos get every call go their way over the next month.

Sharks aren't making it

Apart from our games I think the most important game of the home and away will be the last game of the season - Panthers at home against Newcastle. I don't think we'll know the 8 until that game is decided.

Good enough as in will we achieve the desired result? IMO we will not, therefore we won't be good enough.

Our biggest issue is being able to string wins together. We haven't been able to put 3 together all year and now we're expecting us to do it twice in the run home.

I like to be positive, but I can't see this team doing it lads. If our culture has shifted and we achieve it, Madge deserves a contract extension.

I think we will do it, but I can't see us having a long run into the finals.

What we need to realise is that even making the finals is a successful season for us. It'll boost everyone in the club for next year. It'll show that we have some good things in place and maybe, just maybe, start to put us on the radar for players to sign with and get the fans' blood pumping in a positive way rather than our usual pessimistic "here we go again" way

We just need to get there.

Never seen it go any other way for them. They are the ultimate teflon team in the NRL.
