How would you judge whether Potter has been a success?

When I witness patience onfield
When I see us play to percentages
When I notice us working towards a goal, that may yet still be two sets off offense & two sets of D away
When we RUN forward….and pass across field - not vice versa
It all should be easy to spot

what is our strength? except touch footy?

maybe some of our individuals have some strengths, but as a team, i fail to find one tbh…

We did run top 4 in consecutive years, we must have some strengths.

Coaching is a results business, we prob have a mid field squad, over 2 years if he wins more than he loses he has been a success, that will see him make the 8 in one of the 2 years.

Id say at the end of his contract assuming we have kept the promising kids, and they develop as expected, we should have a strong side and be in a position to have a crack.

It will be all about making the 8's - that's all that matters.

If we had won only a game or so more this year, we would have made the 8\. But it still wouldn't have been regarded as a good year IMO.

And if that happened Sheens would more then likely still be here, and still getting away with below par performances.

The panel of experts in this forum, will judge him one way or another. I just want improvement, year after year. That's in individual players performances and stronger defence.

all i want the team to be is consistently performing on the field even if we are 40 in front or 40 behind i want them to show like they want to win,and not fall away at times, and defend like their life depends on it

Spot on. I would like to see a lot more resolve in our side when the heat is on….no more rolling over, giving up and copping an embarrassing hiding like we did vs Dragons and Roosters this year. Would love us to be more physical, usually whenever teams play aggressive and physical against us we raise the white flag. This needs to change.

Don't go for the flashy play when just a standard play, whether it is a basic pass or kick, will get the job done with a lot less risk involved.

No more short drop-outs thanks Benji.

Potter needs to tell the players not to talk the talk in the media in regards to "i'm gonna do this in our next game" or "we are gonna do that". Just do your talking out on the field on game-day with your actions, I am tired of hearing our blokes talk themselves up before a game and then just play like a disinterested, passionless hack on the weekend.

Stiffen up our defence.

Basically just make our whole team more substance than style, learn how to grind out wins and close out games that all too often we lose because of going for the winning play on every tackle.

Its fashionable to over-analyze in these threads

Many humble apologies :unamused: Maybe we should all just find a member on this forum that we have it in for, :unamused: follow up every post they make with a comment that just blatantly disagrees with them and pull them up for every pedantic little mistake they make (ring a bell re: BenjiMagic)

Would that be preferable? :deadhorse:

Think nothing of it friend

With regard to youth policy, the club from this year is starting a policy of playing the majority of the 2012 NYC players too old for 2013, in NSW Cup, for further development.

I would like Potter to make his own decidions and stick to them Hundreds of people will be prepared to push their own opinions to him but a head coach lives and dies by his own deciisons
