Hull FC move for Jacob Miller blocked by Wests Tigers

max smart your kidding, nofoaluma is going to be a gun he already is better than moltzen, and i hope potter picks players on form not on name value, next year.

Moltz ain't a winger. I know nofo can play fullback as well but if nofo is fullback he's behind tedesco at least.

I rate him highly and am hoping for game time for him this year just trying to be realistic!

Not sure where the thread went but here is my team for 2013

1\. Moltzen
2\. Lote
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ayshford
5\. Korobiete
6\. Marshall
7\. Miller
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Blair
12\. Fulton
13\. Anasta

14\. Bell
15\. BMM
16\. Pettybourne
17\. Groat

Pretty boring side ill admit but I'm just trying to be realistic.

If we have lote, he'll start and even though he was solid I think Utai misses out.
No room for siro who really is in a transition year from 5/8 to lock IMO. I've got tedesco behind Moltz at this point only based on 1st grade experience although moltz is one dropped bomb away from NSW Cup.
Nofoaluma will need injuries at this point to get into the team as he's no better than 4th best winger, and maybe 5th or 6th compared with NSW Cup guys.

Hardest spot to pick right now is the final bench spot. I've gone with a prop but I think this will really depend on what Potters tactics are for the bench. Anyone know how he ran it at the bulls?

Could potentially see Teddy in here and moltz could shift into centres/halves/hooker if there was an injury or someone got pulled.

Whenever I start feeling good about next year I see someone put a number one jersey on Moltzen and the nightmares set back in.

Lote over Utai?!?

That back row has zero impact as well….sorry about that Chief!

David was picked in Rep sides at fullback ahead of Teddy.

new coach, new perspectives though. Makes for a good amount of intrigue in the off season

I heard this only happened until there last year of school then teddy got up. Either way it would be good if both played some 1st grade next year.

Again, I'm only trying to be realistic! I'd love to drop moltz and Blair and lote like everyone else on here! Just playing devils advocate

Really thought nofoaluma was wasted on the wing in the 20s. I know he was great under the high ball and made 15ms every set from dummy half, but none of our centers ever set the world on fire. He probably should have been played there, would be interested to know if sheens instructed payten to play him there, or if it was todds idea. Then again they won the comp so we can't argue with it too much.

All comes down to work ethic in the end ,and Miller and Nofoaluma have to learn this

Thats where James Tedesco won out last year ,worked his ring out in the off season and it paid off handsomely

I hope all of NYC boys who step up to the top squad use this as a huge chance

Forget the big names playing in positions you play and work at your absolute best and go for it

It you make it congrats and if not learn from the experience

people putting Blair , Fulton and Anasta in the back row must dislike Liam…cause he has a lot of tackling to do with these two next to him.

Blair..you should know what i think of him..nothing..and Anasta ..tries hard at times, but..a backrower at his age and stage of career..and a winner of a regular award. ..no thanks not in my backrow.

Maybe i should have posted this elsewhere..

The Titans have been in a scramble to replace their veteran halfback and have been targeting Williams and Wests Tiger Jacob Miller, another of Hull's targets.

But Miller's future at the Tigers has been all but sealed with new coach Mick Potter reluctant to release the promising youngster.

For a long time the argument was who is better Nofaluma or Tedessco…. plenty of support for both of them.

I reckon we will have the same argument for a few years with Moses and Brooks. Right now Im a Brooks man.

I know people say comparing kids is wrong and too much pressure blah, blah, blah.....everything in life is a competition

Miller will be staying at the Tigers. He will reap the rewards of being able to be mentored my Anasta, whom I think is one of the best tactical players in game. I see miller as a future captain of the club and I think Potter will give Miller the number 7 with Anasta at lock and Marshall back to number 6\. If the club can be sparred the horrific injury toll of this season then I think we will make the finals next year for sure, my concern is our lack of depth in the front row dept!

Agreed and with a lack of depth up front I think it will be hard for Miller to shine in the 7 role.Any 7 needs his fforwards to win the go forward otherwise they will struggle.

I think Miller will be very goood but everyone knows we are a prop or two short which makes it difficult for Miller & Marshall.

what ever happened to beau henry thought he went to the retirement coast, there was talk of him being a gun

Had a terrible attitude and was a poor defender.

Im not sure where he ended up, but I know the senior players at St George were adament he wouldn't make it

Wayne Bennett punted him twice. Once at St George then again at Newcastle.

THE halfback Wests Tigers said they wanted to lock up from prying clubs, Jacob Miller, has been offered to the Gold Coast as a replacement for Scott Prince.

Less than 24 hours after Prince decided to leave the Titans and return to Brisbane because he could not get a contract extension, the Titans offloaded two more players - utility back Dominique Peyroux to the Warriors and forward Brenton Lawrence to Manly. Both players made their NRL debuts in 2011.

With pre-season training starting next week, Titans coach John Cartwright said he was relaxed with his halves situation as he had five young players to work with: Albert Kelly, Aidan Sezer, Jordan Rankin, Beau Henry and Matt Beddow.

Cartwright said he also had been inundated with approaches from player managers offering the services of quality halves.

It is understood Miller, along with Penrith goalkicking under-20s half Harry Siejka - both of whom have played four NRL games - and former Parramatta player Brad Murray, who was charged in the Ryan Tandy betting scandal case two years ago, have been offered to the Titans.

Hunter Valley product Murray, who was cut loose from the Eels after Tandy affair, initially was banned from playing in the Newcastle district competition in March until his case cleared the courts. The ban was lifted in July because his case has been adjourned repeatedly and is still before the courts.

Cartwright is confident the Titans have the mix to fill the hole left by Prince.

Beddow is a Southport local who has been in the club's Toyota Cup side and, along with Rankin, played some Queensland Cup this year for Burleigh.

"If we had to, we could throw Birdy (Greg Bird) in there," Cartwright said. "He's got plenty of experience, and Aidan has been a halfback all his life, although he's predominantly played five-eighth since he came to us. So there's some genuine talent within our group at the moment."

He said he was not closing his mind to others but had salary-cap limitations. "We'll keep our eyes open because there's some good young halves around who aren't playing first grade."

Miller fits into that category since he topped the under-20s with kicks in play and was in the top three in try assists for 2012\. He was in the sights of Hull while the English club was chasing Prince for a three-year deal.

Kelly played solidly alongside Wade Graham at the Sharks before alcohol incidents ended his time in the Shire.

"He's got all the skills and, although he's had some issues, he wants to put that in the past. He's been training hard in the gym already and looks fit and sharp," Cartwright said. "I'll admit we haven't got a lot of experience there (in halves) but certainly we've got guys with plenty of ability."

Prince starts pre-season training with Brisbane on Monday and could meet his old club as soon as February.

The Titans will play three trial games against the Warriors, North Queensland and the Broncos.

There are not many NRL proven halves around(stating the obvious),only unproven wannabees from lower grades,Titans must have someone in mind or their relationship with Prince has broken down completely which may be the case as he's no longer getting the house he was promised by Searle built for him.
