Walt Disney. We are Bambi's mother.

If we're a movie I would go Braveheart. We all get our hopes up with some rousing pre-season call to arms and the occasional victory to get our hopes up, but ultimately it's a tragedy ending in brutal execution and dismemberment. But a warning for the original poster - the turncoats also meet bloody ends as well.

Looks fitter than Joey, does he play in the three quarter line?

I'm 36 this year, I have seen Balmain/Wests Tigers play finals 5 times in 31 seasons.

I think I worked out Wests fans of my vintage would have seen finals 6 times in the same time.

I'm also 36. Sitting a few rows deep where Buckets scored against the broncs in the 05 semis, let alone the following weeks atmosphere when we rolled the steelers are memories that no amount of pain can replace.

As much as at times WT make me feel ill.
The thought of supporting any other team makes me feel worse.
The thought of the sort of programs my wife and daughter would have me watch if I didn't have minimun 4 days a week of rugby league makes me feel even sicker.

But most importantly my 9 yr old son loved his dad enough to become a suffering tigers fan. When his mates say why don't you go for someone good like the roosters or storm, I tell him to simply respond **black and gold never fold**.

You'll have to change your little ditty, as Wests Tigers colours also contain white.

Black and White are our club colours
Wearing them we're brave and bold
And the only time we'll change them
Is to put on green and gold

Good Lord, that’s a flashback.

Ok.. I officially surrender
Having been a Tigers fan since the early 80’s I’ve been patient, I have waiting through many “ building” periods and celebrated our one GF victory ( in admittedlyone of the weakest years to date) only to watch this team drop from a strong and vibrant club to a sad shadow of its former self. It’s become like the Balmain tigers leagues club, an empty shell, a white elephant and a source of much derision.
I am hanging up my stripes until we get a strong leader, some guts and a spine both figuratively and on the field with a good halves/fullback combination.
How can we expect To be competitive without these things?

So you’re walking away until the club develops a spine? Oh the irony!

Basically the sport is totally different, my club is dead and morphed, my home ground barely gets a game and when it does it feels like a dodgy rip off of what it once was (even though crowds were smaller), the jerseys look rubbish, the logo is some corporate American junk but there's just something about it that still means something more than the sport Itself. I'd give up if we moved to Perth or somewhere else but I'd never give up based on results. I'm not a roosters fan.

I noticed a fan a few weeks ago went on a rant and switched to supporting Panthers....soft

Not sure what the point is. Penrith will be back in the pack in 2 years. Do people think them dominating is permanent?

It depends on how they achieved their success and their capacity to continue doing the same things without deviating. Same as WT found a way to become a consistent bottom 8 club. Unless of course panthers have struck a once off generation of stars?

It’s all a cycle, though the Storm and Easts have been on the wave for a while, our turn will come again, just wish I knew when?

Tha Storm have been on the wave since their inception, I can’t recall them having a bad year. Even when they were deducted points for cheating the cap they were still winning matches.

Sadly I don’t think our mob knows how to surf.

9th and 10th 2001-2002.

lol, I know you are proving a point but it is very depressing that you had to go back so far for those stats.

That’s my point, I don’t think it is cyclical. You develop an organisation with policies and procedures which contribute to achieving short, medium and long term goals. The goals of the organisation become entrenched in its culture, either way. Come to think of it , I’ve never heard WT say what they’re going to do? The talk is always about what has been done. However, I’m sure they do have goals, they just don’t have the courage to tell us what they are.

This cyclical stuff suggests it's all about luck. Maybe Wests are just waiting their turn, always next year.

The betting agency has responded to the “I’m done” minority group who can’t take it anymore. Tigers will run out favourites this weekend. 😂
