I’m done

Of course he will be back. Maybe do it like me, a hiatus f sorts until I see effort and commitment to the jersey.

For me, the recent FLOGGINGS at both of Tommy's tribute games at Leichhardt and Campbelltown has left a sour taste in my mouth that will take a long time to remove. i wasn't a Wests supporter, but I have grown to love that half of our history and Tommy Raudonikis was deserved of a far greater effort than these pi$$ants provided. Look at the recent Manly game after Bob Fulton died. THATS EFFORT!

I've said before, winning is good but I'd much prefer to go down fighting HARD and giving it everything I have. the efforts shown by some players this season is pathetic, and some of these players are the ones that some on this forum go on about being potential future captains etc.

Only when I see effort where they cannot physically get off the ground at the end of the game will I respect those playing in our jersey at the moment.

And yes, I am a paid member, so for that membership I have the right to say what I think to and about the club. I don't think the coach is the issue. If the players gave what he gave each week, we would be leading the comp!

Spot on mate.

The feast of the season will determine if I renew my membership. I turned the roll over off

Yup if I don’t see clear improvement by end of season, I could well and truly give this mob away too. What holds me on seriously is our interest in some of the super league signings. And possibly a player that can lead this team around properly.

Ok.. I officially surrender
Having been a Tigers fan since the early 80’s I’ve been patient, I have waiting through many “ building” periods and celebrated our one GF victory ( in admittedlyone of the weakest years to date) only to watch this team drop from a strong and vibrant club to a sad shadow of its former self. It’s become like the Balmain tigers leagues club, an empty shell, a white elephant and a source of much derision.
I am hanging up my stripes until we get a strong leader, some guts and a spine both figuratively and on the field with a good halves/fullback combination.
How can we expect To be competitive without these things?

See ya

The longer the wait the sweeter the reward.

Imagine how boring it would be to follow Melbourne or the Roosters.

Sure you may have some success, but at the price of having no friends.

I cannot understand how anyone who has followed the Wests Tigers, and whatever iteration prior to that, can walk away now?

I'm 36 this year, I have seen Balmain/Wests Tigers play finals 5 times in 31 seasons.

I think I worked out Wests fans of my vintage would have seen finals 6 times in the same time.

You may as well hang on at this point...

If I walked away from the tigers,
I'd walk away from the sport as a whole.

What else would I do though?
Watch cooking shows on the weekend when my wife is at work?

Cmon now...
We will reep the rewards, all those dark days will be worth it... someday.

I know it's a tough slog Zig, but it does make the highs so much better when they are less frequent. Yeah it'd be nice to make the finals more often obviously, but the further down you start the higher and more impressive that trajectory is when you hit the upswing.

Agree 100% mate. We will have more than paid our penance.

I've been with Wests Tigers since their inception and Balmain going back to mid 60s. My old man (may he RIP) was a die hard Wests fan so the merge was sort of karma for the family.

I'll never stop following them even though they test my loyalty sometimes. I'm far more inclined to take a break from here - it amazes me how many 'fans' hate on the team and individual players when they have a bad game.

As much as I've loved it for over 60 years it's still just a game.

I was done a few years ago during the Robbie Farah/Jason Taylor saga, especially after that 50 point drubbing against Canberra. I abused people on this forum and said some unsavoury things to ensure I got a permanent ban. I didn't want the temptation to come back. Yet here I am a few years down the road with a new account and reading this forum just about every day.

Didn't watch the start of the 2017 season. Heard Jason Taylor got sacked, it got me interested a little. Then I heard Ivan Cleary was set to be our coach and I was back. One off season and a few rounds was all it took to hook me back in.

You'll be back.

What a loss

To be honest I'd probably give the game away as a whole before I stop supporting WT. The recent rule changes and some of the idiotic sin binnings dished out really put me off watching the game. The NRL is doing their dead level best to ruin the NRL.
Go Tigers.
