I don't want to be like Sheens: Potter

In all honesty and I know this shouldnt be an excuse, the Tigers have been very unlucky with injuries which meant poor old Timmy had to re shuffle players week in week out in the past few years. Got to give the OldBull some credit for making other coaches second guess what he had up his sleeves. A great tactical coach who will be surely missed. In saying that, we have a new coach with new coaching ideas and a new/different culture now. Good luck Mick Potter and us Tiger fans pray you have an injury free season so the boys can make a mark this year and possibly make it into the eight or maybe another GrandFinal.

Journalists rating Heighington as a big loss are clueless. Either they havnt watched our games for years or are just'beefing' up their article. We are way out in front in the Anasta in for Heighington out senario.

Spot on. I laugh everytime I see CH labelled as a big loss.

im in the fulton not starting boat
i think we would be better with anasta and bell with either BMM, pettybourne or thompson in there, i rate bell as a defensive unit, he is wider than fulton and the other2nd rower offers the aggression and line running the tigers need
bring fulton on late in the first half and having him and anasta playing together towards the end of the halves will allow the game to settle a lot
to me most games were lost late in the game, if they can have their experienced defensive unit out then the tigers could turn a large chunk of lost games into wins and that will be a top 8 team suddenly
for me fulton needs to come on around 25-30 mins into the game as the plays start to tire allowing his smaller frame and good lines running to be more effective
i agree that anasta signing is fantastic, i was the biggest anti-anasta signing but all reports seems good and im really starting to like the idea of having his experience and guidance around the team
2013 is shaping up to be a good year whatever potter does

I'd actually put fulton on at 30min, as the other teams (and our own) starts eyeing the clock for half time, and then again at 60min. He can either run good lines and use his speed for breaks or plug holes if our boys let anyone through.

spot on for the first half, 2nd half i think he needs to be out there for a bit longer
20 minutes isnt very long for him, maybe at 30 mins for 20 or so then give him a 20 minutes break then back out for the last 30 or let him play 50 minutes straight, bring him on after 30 mins and let him stay out there and take anasta early in the 2nd half and bring him back for the last 10 or20

Fulton needs to play 80 and needs to look after Benji in defence

Name me one other player we have in our squad that is capable of this role ??

I hear ya Happy, I guess it would have to be the other back rower, so either BMM (no chance to do it) or Thompson (perhaps?).

Otherwise Bell might be able to do it.

I'm prepared to see how Fults goes if he is selected to come off the bench, extra energy in his work may improve his effectiveness.

Miller, he's put on some size since last year (as has benji) and imo he is a VERY solid defender who would obviously be next to benji throughout much of the game allowing him to cover any of benji's defensive lapses. But, it's very hard to gauge newcomers like teddy and miller as we have no idea about their performance in the NRL especially in terms of CONSISTENCY over 26 rounds. So i could be way off there.

Lets see how Mr Potter reacts if and when we have a run of loses then we will know if Potter really doesn't want to be like Sheens at the moment it's pretty much the same.

I'll do nothing for 10% of what Sheens does it for

It's eerily quiet isn't it? He must be still hanging on hoping that the club will cut him loose and pay him out on the spot. Then again, WT aren't the most forthcoming club with information, so we could well have paid him out or reached a settlement but not know.

wouldn't having a run of losses make him exactly LIKE sheens?
