I hate golden point

Always have, always will.

It doesn't guarantee you will not have a draw and can result in heartbreak like tonight. Our season changed in 9 seconds there tonight. A draw would have done us, a loss and we are now back in the pack and no certainty of making the 8.

What is wrong with a good ol' fashioned draw?

I don't understand Golden Point when if a point isn't scored in 10 minutes, the result stands. Either you keep playing till a result occurs or it ends 80 minutes in a draw. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with a draw. You have 80 minutes to get in front of your oppenent by fulltime. If your still equal, share the points.

The thing that irks me and that Sheens spoke of is that refs put away their whistle when it approaches game-end. They might blow one in the defensive half, but never in the attack half.

Farah clearly pulled a penalty with about 20 seconds to go but they were just never going to call it. So whilst we only have ourselves to blame for the loss ultimately, the rules seem to change when it gets tight.

I love extra time…not so much when we are playing it....

We had more than enough chances to win that game handsomely tonight...Souths took their chances and got away with an emotional victory. Good on them.

Totally agree with this! They will never give an obvious penalty in the attacking half that will decide the game for us. I may seem crazy but it feels like this has been happening for a while. I clearly thought Farah had them off, why don't we get these. Am sure some of the Souths playing attempting to charge down our field goals overstepped the mark, will have to see a replay of that. It's so dirty. I can think of 2-3 times in previous seasons where a penalty has been awarded against us for holding down or stripping in our own half to give the opposition a penalty shot to win the game in extra time. We do take the rough end in these ridiculous periods. Anyone remember few years back Prince attempting a field goal in ET with Canberra players rushing up 5metres offside and nothing done about it. Say no to Golden Point! Wayne Bennett will agree. So mad right now :deadhorse:

Golden Point is good television and rubbish Rugby League.
