I love this time of year.

For the past 2 years we have been slow starters, smashed up by injuries, most on the forums panic, then come home strongly to make the semis and the ones who panic become believers again. It happened in 2010, 2011 and the trend continues this year. Is it just me or does anyone else find the comical side to some of the panic going on in these forums?

Or the two years before that where things went a little bit awry and we missed the finals?

There is a huge issue narrowing your margin for error and injury at the back end of the season by starting so poorly

I'll start worrying if we lose a home game. Right now we are one of only five teams who have not lost at home yet. Sure, we've only had one home game, but there are FIVE teams that are 0-2 at home.

I find it funny specially when we start winning and they change their tune….as if we forget what they said earlier in the season.

Wrong Wrong Wrong

In 2010 we won 4 of our first 5 games and 2011 we won 3 of our first 5.
This year we are lucky not to be 3 zip. Very Lucky.
We don't have the back up this year for injuries. It's not going to be the same.

Nothing wrong with staying positive good luck maybe miracles do happen.

Where I agree one from three isnt a season ending start but Iam still a little concerned. Relying on a winning streaks to get you to the SFS and ANZD come September is very dangerous road to go down. I think the no7 experiment will take quite a while if ever to come off and the team will struggle against everyone with a disjointed attack. Also with out Gibbs our goal line defense is very average. Another loss next week and I will be worried a good win against a good pack will give me some confidence

We are reacting to what happened to the team the other night.
You love seeing the team get smashed too?
What I find comical is posters that put themselves above the plebs here.
Yes, some over-react, but thats just passion.

We also had a halfback at the start of 2010 and 2011\. This year we don't. No genuine fullback isn't helping either. I'll go on record now and say that if Kurtis Rowe is still killing it in the NYC at the halfway mark this year, then I'd be throwing him in FG.

We need to stay solid As long as we have a 4-5 record by Round 10 I'll be happy Hopefully we can keep our for and against in check Keep any losses close as possible

This is the year that was supposed to change.

But it's more of the same.

Yeah, hybrid, that's the disappointing thing - it's always the same, even the damn injuries! With all the new signings and the supposed depth in all positions this year, I thought we would start a lot better than this. What is it that they work on during the off season if not to rectify the weaknesses from the year before? Meanwhile the Storm loses key players, year after year, yet they keep rolling on, competitive every week, playing as a cohesive unit and winning games, - I just don't get it, I really don't.

Its not comical, its concerning. Some people have been so emotionally damaged over these last two weeks, one wonders if they need counselling. Apparently its symptomatic of their passion?

Melbourne have a quality 1,6,7 and 9, probably the best spine in the comp.

We have a 6 and a 9 but no 7 and we lost our 1 in the first round.

The Storm are also well drilled, with a particular focus on defense and a good kicking game, two things which we are simply not very good at.

Sadly it seems most other teams work on the basics but not us. We go sideways instead of forwards, we have a poor kicking game and we get overrun in the forwards when we lose one or two players.

The same problems have been happening for years.

Yes good point Hybrid… Home losses would be more concerning! In saying that we can't rely on a winning streak going into the home straight! I recall last year the winning streak occured against teams that were out of form Cowboys/Saints), injuries (Manly) & the downright strugglers (Eels n Easts!).
The next month is going to be interesting!
I have faith we can get over the depleted Raiders next week, against Souths & the Broncos the weeks preceeding that will be mini mountains to test our credentials.
