I really think this will help

I think a better idea is to buy a quality centre/winger before June 30\. If Wests Tigers do not want to open their purse the only other alternative would be to give Garner a contract and play him at centre. At least our backline defence would be improved and Garner could fill in at second row if the need arises.

Put a reserve grade backrower into the centers in NRL and expect the defence to be improved?
I highly doubt it.
You shouldve stopped at your first sentence

This sounds as good as putting Lovett in the centres, that work well for Taylor.
:brick:

How do you think a reserve grade second rower like Marsters got a chance in first grade? He was selected as centre.

Its the hardest position to defend in…I dont see Garner as a center especially when hes standing out in the forwards
As I said, your first sentence is more sensible
Marsters making a fist of it is impressive, I dont see it being a highly succesful plan though

i don't think so.

Three loses by 2 points, absolutely nothing to do with nofo - again he was solid today.

We had problems across the park - primarily poor ball handing.

Benji had 2 sets in a row where he tried a 40/20 on the 3rd tackle and both were horrible kicks.

There's some game management at times that's letting us down… this nofo stuff is getting old.

Nofo was solid today, are you for real?
Didn't attack the ball even though he had body position for the French try.
Didn't wrap the ball up that led to another Parra try and you call that solid?

I suggest you watch the replay.

Nofo Defence:
You do understand that up and in defence is a hit and miss game right? Its not always going to work and will be found out - wingers look stupid when its usually the inside men. Benji has been a much bigger problem defensively than nofo.
And nofo has been solid under the high ball.

Nofo Attack:
Did anyone give him good opportunity with the ball? Or are we purely judging wingers now on their hit up count because the forwards haven't been effective?

Real issue:
Focusing on Nofi is just distracting you from the issues in the middle. Parras go forward today (by their forwards) looked alot more damaging than ours. We had that the first few weeks- its dropped off.

Nofo was far from our worst player today.

Esan has a lot more natural talent that MCK will ever have. That's why he was successful in transiting to centre.

Marsters is making a great fist of it , how many NRL games has he played

Again watch what is happening inside first

If anything I'm more disappointed in Nofoa's running game , he doesn't seem to be hitting it up with the same gusto as previous seasons

Who's Garner?

My change for next week would be Lolahea to 6 and Benji to the bench.

The difference between winning and losing over the last two weeks has been Benji's decision making and execution.

Nah, I'd keep things as they currently are. Fonua did enough to keep his spot next week, he was pretty solid today.

The Wannabeast is lucky to even be in the 17 imo. McQueen should be there over him.

Disagree. Haven't seem him outplay Garner this year and ISP were thumped today. Gamble was poor too.

I'm sure Willow will be along shortly with the player stats but for now Nofo 127m Fonua 127m Thompson 116m Marsters 123m..not one Wests Tigers forward made over 100m today the closest was Lawrence with 91m and Aloiai with 90m….4 Parra forwards made over 100...Our middle got collapsed again and yet people are dropping wingers....

We need Packer and Twal back to take some pressure of Eisenhuth espesially...

Couldn’t agree more. We have 3 of our best forwards our in twal, packer and Taylor. Lifdle didn’t look 100%. People need to calm down.

Haven't dropped Nofoaluma at all , been showing up the defensive issues inside :deadhorse:

I'm not knocking Nofoa's metres Geo , just he seems to lack the fire in his running game of past seasons

If only Brooks could have kicked out of that last ditch tackle 😢 he would of gone 105 metres

We would be celebrating one of the best ever WT's tries , game of inches sometimes

I won't churn the stats out tonight, but you are right Geo. Being on the wrong side of the possession ledger, our forwards simply didn't lay a platform through the middle. Nofo and Fonua being our chief metre munchers. Aloiai bent the line but his hands let him down at crucial stages. We get packer, Taylor and Twal back and our middle tightens up considerably.

The guys are trying, but the game management from Benji and Brooks is suffering as a result of the forwards not winning the ruck. Most people on here just want to foolishly blame individuals when it is a team effort. Look at it this way, if we had won the ruck against Newcastle and the Eels, we're celebrating wins and not whingeing about losses.

Disagree ….. Benji stays until Reynolds is fit and ready.
Then he plays tag with Little off the bench.

Aswell as Thommo is going at fullback, I'd still bring Tui back and move Thommo to wing.
The only common theme with our pathetic right defence over the last 4 years is Nofo.

I agree. Tui is inspired when he plays first grade and the team responds. Nofo at this stage does not have the speed or size required for a first grade winger.

He definately doesn't have the speed to be an nrl winger…..When tried at centre he failed miserably. Idk whether Tui deserves his spot back in team either. We may have to go into the market for a quality 3/4

Yes to that!

I thought our forwards went ok and were equal to Parramatta. There forwards ran more metres , thats because our wingers did alot more work, and we had less possession. I think Parramatta had a little more rub of the green with the penalties, Rockow's strip was not a strip, Thompson was on the ground when the ball was stolen from him, and Moses pass was forward.

Our forwards were not up to scratch yesterday and made no metres, lost ball and penalties let us down yesterday.
