Ice on 'that' play...

I think you don’t notice him because he in a below average squad. I think he’s played well in most of not all our matches.
He is a part of a good pack which wins the ruck most weeks, so we should notice him. He has not engaged his wide hole hitting runs like he used to.
Is this attitude or coaching? Probably both.

Ice chased Hunt.

Gets back up.

Runs into the space that stops Sloane from scoring.

Chases Suli and slips.

Gets back up.

And is in the tackle that sends the winger into touch.

FOUR efforts on one play. FOUR.

Most players would have given up...he literally got up twice and went again.

That is the culture we need.

That was Origin level effort. Not all bits succeeded, but he just kept getting back up and going again.

Most people may not even have noticed, but that builds culture. FOUR efforts on one play after playing all game in the pack.

We have not had that 'effort' since Ellis.
Very true. Proud of these guys , they seem to have started to learn how to play for 80 compete hard and play for each other. Forwards have been busting their arses off for weeks laying the platform for the backs to have room to run or kick , thus confidence and belief in each other and become a TEAM. Never just happens overnight, not going overboard or anything just great to see the efforts paying off. With effort comes progress.

Bulaga was also great on that play.
Tackles Hunt, keeps moving and gets a bump on Suli and forces him to offload.
Then makes the tackle on Ravalawa.
All on the same play.

No way Daine Laurie puts in back to back to back effort plays.
So very true.. gotta give this kid yet another extension and soon before Sombrero clubs come poaching.. I know it's early in his career but I think this kid has IT. He hasn't even finished growing and filling out. Seems to have a desire to be and get better. Very happy for the kid.

I would think it’s our inability to create the space for him to run into?

Watched again after reading this post...thanks and yeah these plays are effort plays, it is inspiring and conatgious to team mates....Bula too just as much effort

Too much going on to notice live

On the fox sports website they've clipped up that entire sequence and IP does make several efforts to get in the way fill space and be there to help bundle the winger over in the end. Bula also makes the initial for tackle contact on Hunt and pulls himself off the deck to get over the where he makes the contact in the corner.
Laurie doesnt make those plays nor does Staines, also Tuillagi or Garner probably dont make those efforts Ice does. I wouldnt say Ice played great today but that was a great sequence of efforts, i dare say we need more Ice and Bula's and we could be cooking with gas.

I have been waiting too, but really blame the halves. Much happier with our kicking game but picking and executing the right pass is still lacking 90% of the time
Halves have been poor in the past, but having Bula, Toa, Naden, Tupou as threats will make Books running game better. Till the last few weeks it’s been very predictive, but today he was that little bit more dangerous. I like the way the halves are progressing.

We need a game where we kick ahead by 18 and the pressure reduces. I think we could rack up a cricket score in a few weeks. It’s coming…

It is easy to play Monday morning QB, but so many on this forum cried, "he is not ready, give him 3-4 years in the NSW cup, Staines MUST play the FB" 😉
Sheens 20 vs WT Forumers 0

Who is your target for this?
Be good if it was Raiders after the bye in round 14.
No real target, I can just see how tough the forwards are to play against. You get a game with no silly errors and an attack that’s fluid and they’ll do some serious damage.

I think when Sheens said in preseason “it’s pretty hard for the other team to score if they don’t have the ball”, he was right. He was also misinterpreted by the media…look at today though, we were in control, gave away posession in bad areas and have the dragons a sniff. If that doesn’t happen, they don’t have the ball and we potentially score.

We have too many dumb players for ‘no silly errors’ to not occur.
