If we beat the Warriors are we the real deal ??

Yes. But whether we make it or not is a completely different question.

Hell if we win the next 2 weeks we are probably top 4/5 material. Note: I don't mean we will make it just that we are a solid chance !

If the players keep level headed and treat each game as it comes there is a good likelihood that we will be a top 8 chance. Most of the players are young and need to learn to keep their composure throughout the season.

THats the question

If we beat the Warriors can we be seen as serious Top 8 material ??

In your mind top 8\. In the players mind top 4.
Im going with the players on this one.

If we lose, can we bounce back?

I think that's probably the key, we're bound to lose games, it's a question of whether we can bounce back the following week.

If they defend like they have, then yes, we are genuine contenders.

From reports in the 2 trial games our defence was first rate. Even allowed Potter to swap half the first grade side and still win.

Then came the Saints debacle.

I, like many, thought the trial game defence was a sham. However, since the Saints game, against rated opposition, it has been pretty impressive. I now look at it as 4 good defensive games from 5 attempts. Pretty good odds to hope that it will continue tomorrow.

i dont think i will be saying they are the real deal just yet, and the warriors arent the team to beat to make me say so.

for some reason i see manly as the team i would like to see them beat before being convinced. as the season goes on, if they can add manly and maybe melbourne (or similar) to their souths scalp then i say lets go with it! i think the fixtures are made based on a teams finish the previous year (?), and for a young team turning the corner for the club the easier draw is a huge blessing.

if they continue in the fashion they are going right now, and keep winning, well then you cant argue with a solidified, upper ladder position and everyone would have to believe that they are indeed a serious contender.

right now i consider them a good shot at the finals. which is more than fine by me!

edit: sorry, i forgot about the top 8 bit. the real deal for the 8? definitely. but when using that term i think of the whole comp….

well they certainly did against the titans, so hopefully the same will happen throughout the season.
as everyone says, theyre young and ups and downs should happen. just making the 8 this year is a pass in my book.

Long way to go in this NRL Season with the new rules and Rep duties to play a part.

I feel Broncos have adjusted to the new rules really well, but they have played teams who haven't. Melbourne is a team I feel is still learning, but they are 3/3?

We just need to play one week at a time [is that a Daley Quote?] and see how we are heading come round 16-20…

This is when we will know if we can give it a shake, or start working on something new for 2015.

Short answer no…

Still too early to tell IMO. We may beat the Warriors but as we saw last year, we had a horrendous run with injuries, and if key players go down…well you know the rest.

Yep injuries to key players is the key not only us but everyone else. Surely we can't have another injury toll like last 2 years and surely we have a lot more depth where it will count this year.

Consistency and winning games you should win are all steps we must take to become the real deal.
If we're worth our salt we'll put the Warriors away tomorrow. I'm just craving some consistency.

Too early to say but I know one thing, if we turn up every week with the same attitude and commitment as we did against souths were top 4 bound. At the moment I'd like to see us beat teams such as the broncos, manly, roosters before id start even thinking we're the real deal.

I wouldn't think beating a side who got beat by Parra and Saints is any guide to determining whether we're ''the real deal''. Its a game we should win if we are serious about threatening the top 8 though. Its when we compete with the good sides is when we'll get a proper guide. No better yardstick in the comp atm than Manly. Next week could answer a couple questions. Either way, win or lose i wouldn't be running for the razors, its a long ride and i expect this team to have a few ups and downs. Key is not to get critical and stick with them when they're losing. I don't mean that from a bleeding heart ''true supporter'' standpoint, rather one where you got to take the good with the bad from a side full of young kids.

Our problem is our own and the opposition 20.

We struggle to hold teams when they're in our. 20 and struggle to score points in their 20\. I know we've score a lot of points last three rounds but I didn't feel excited about any real set plays apart from brooks inside kick to teddy.

Hopefully both goal line defense and attack improve with the teenagers getting more game time. Im actually convinced in 3 games that we can win the ruck against the best.

This reminds me of 2000 season…..flying until round 17, sitting 2nd on ladder for several weeks

Crashed to 10th

Why look so far ahead?
