This reminds me of 2000 season…..flying until round 17, sitting 2nd on ladder for several weeks

Crashed to 10th

Why look so far ahead?

we are putting up all the SOO Banners in Qld so nothing is important between now and mid July.

That leave around 8 games left…

Our problem is our own and the opposition 20.

We struggle to hold teams when they're in our. 20 and struggle to score points in their 20\. I know we've score a lot of points last three rounds but I didn't feel excited about any real set plays apart from brooks inside kick to teddy.

Hopefully both goal line defense and attack improve with the teenagers getting more game time. Im actually convinced in 3 games that we can win the ruck against the best.

I know what you're saying and agree goal line defence has been a big problem in recent years, but in the last 2 games the boys have only conceded 2 tries from inside their 20, both being to Joel Reddy in the dying minutes last week. Both Titans tries were from outside the 20 as was one of Souths'.

In that same time we have scored 10 tries from inside the opposition 20\. It could have been more had Keefy and Tapau not knocked on over the line and had Richards not been taken high over the line. The 10 tries exclude one Richards try because it started a little outside the 20.

The best way to defend your line is to win the battle for field position. We didn't do that last year. We gave away penalties, dropped the ball and got killed through the middle. Very few teams can hold out sustained attack from close range for too long, especially a tired team who have been forced to make so many tackles due to aforementioned errors. We have been vastly improved so far this year in this area, except for one half v St George.

Consistency and winning games you should win are all steps we must take to become the real deal.
If we're worth our salt we'll put the Warriors away tomorrow. I'm just craving some consistency.

Agreed. Consistent performances, win lose or draw, earn respect, not the occasional great win.

I would add that respected teams don't beat themselves too often. WTs have been among the worst offenders in this area for many years, even the better years. :bash I hope we have turned a corner.

Boring as it may seem, overcome one pack at a time.
Realistically, until wests-tigers out muscle both manly & the rooster's forward packs, they won't be taken seriously. So I see this as a big advantage for wests-tigers.

Nothing boring there. That is the way the Tigers have to do things. One game at a time. We were in an identical position this time last year. Only difference being , in my opinion, we have beaten better opposition in Rd 2 and 3 this year.

Not the real deal for a while

you dont think we can make the 8 this year?

i think we're a chance.

hell we should give manly a big run for their money next week if fulton, simona, teddy and woodsy are all playing.

It depends what you mean by ''the real deal''

As premiership contenders? no
As top 8 contenders? yes
