I’m I selfish?

I was extremely happy last night when the NSW team was named and NONE of our players were named. :smiley:

I have always put club footy before state or country. Wests Tigers winning the comp or even the Minor Premiership is always more important to me than NSW or Australia winning any games. :sign:

I make absolutely no apologies for this fact.

Does this make me selfish? :question:

I would rather win a premiership than a SOO series (no brainer) but I'd still like some Tigers selected.

The down fall I think in your theory is that blokes come back from Origin better players which helps in the big games at the end of the season. Many on here complain that our forwards are soft… three games being bashed by the Qld forwards would certainly toughen them up a bit.

There's also the indirect benefit that state selection adds to the perception of a successful club which may help attract fans, sponsors and players.

Countering my own argument however, is the fact that Qld are so strong ATM that I think any team the blues put up will be beaten, and that's probably the best time not to be picked!

y wouldn't u want to see tigers playing? don't u think they desrve recognition ?…i can understand u wanting to take the positives out of no tigers being selected but to b glad that they weren't n to prefer them not being selected is just plain idiotic...the injuries excuses r old in the tooth every side gets affected not just the tigers...if u had half a side playing like the dragons u might have legitamate concern but with only 3 tigers players tops with realistic origin aspirations the injury excuse is just a cop out

yep. also the players love it because it is the pinacle and they get paid some really nice cash per game!

I agree, im glad as well that none of our players got selected as well. SOO is boring, yawwnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The coaches are just puppets and muppets.

as a tigers supporter i want what makes the players happy. they all dream of playing rep footy and work really hard to try and get there. it is selfish to want them not to play games like SOO just for a potential few extra wins mid season. and as Team Tigers says, those who play will come back better players which is the best for the tigers in the long run.

Don't agree . Ask any player what means more winning an Origin series , a world cup or a premiership . I would bet that 95%+ would pick a premiership . What should happen if you are the best club in comp that some of your players then get rep honours . Unless far better players in their position are ahead of them . IE 2005 Prince v Thurston Sorry Thurston wins every time

What players would have even been spoke about at the selection meeting based on our 2011 form. I cant think of one player who would have even come close. Farah and Galloway had been spoken about in the press but really they have been miles off the pace, Farah's playing on one leg and Big Red has a dig but has plenty of better options in front of him
