Playing the ‘form’ team of the Telstra Premiership in the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs on the back of two straight losses has Wests Tigers centre Chris Lawrence licking his lips in excitement.

Lawrence has welcomed the challenge of playing the second placed Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium this Friday night.

“We will know where we are at. It is a big challenge for us and as football players, you look forward to those big challenges so everyone is going to be really keen to get out there,’’ Lawrence said.

“Their whole side is in form and they are going to be very dangerous so we are going to have to turn up if we expect to win.”

Lawrence admitted the bye last weekend had come at a good time for the eighth-placed Wests Tigers following disappointing losses to the Sydney Roosters and Newcastle.

“Where we sit on the ladder at the moment has not been mentioned because if we don’t turn around the way we are playing, it won’t matter,’’ Lawrence said.

“We have just got to keep training hard and get those fundamentals right that got us those seven wins in a row. The seven wins were achieved by sticking to our structure and sticking to things we know are going to work.

“For the last two weeks, we would stick to the game plan for certain sections but then there would be 15-20 minute periods where we would go away from that. That’s when we have let in points and made mistakes, so it is about sticking with what we know is going to work and have faith in it.”

Actually it's about turning up with the right mindset and be prepared to tackle with intensity and commitment for the full 80 minutes. History shows that when the Tigers defend well they generally win.

as long as we come up with the right attitude, i personally won't care if we win or lose.. however, it's a worry when you have to question a side's attitude mid season on the fringe of top 8.

Well to be brutally honest, Chris hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire. It would be nice to see the Lawrence of old. I'm sure that will help enormously. It's time for the boys to aim up if we are to be any sort of threat in the premiership.

it's a shame, that players do not come out and say this.
would be refreshing for a change.

now or never wests-tigers.

Just focus on playing well yourself lawrence! If you can start playing remotely well it can only help our case. And yes tell your teammates to start tackling. Work on your fitness this week you bludgers!
