Individual Player Numbers

Stupid - I have taught my kids that we are tigers fans regardless of the players.

We love TNT, Benji and Robbie etc until the day they moved on.

I would never get have somone elses name on my jersey. #9 is all I need

Lets keep a few things sacred in out great game.

I like the idea of a player name.

However that may be dificult the way modern jerseys are a bit of a billboard

I am impartial to the numbers, but think the names should definitely be on the jersey…

The English SuperLeague has personalised numbers don't they? I swear I've seen players running around with "29" on their back.

I'm just wondering how long it'd be before a player chooses 69 as their number.

Bryce Gibbs strikes me as a big enough meathead to get that number on his back.

Yeah and it sucks.

You dont know who is playing where.

This idea is so dumb I cant believe it.

So we'd have a team list of

1- Ryan
36- Tuquiri
3 -Lawrence
4- Ayshford
5 -Tuiaki
88- Marshall
666- Moltzen
00 - Gibbs
48 Farah
10 Kilo
11 Heghno
12 Ellis
**13 Fulton**

03 -Daniella
0 -Brown
16-Flanagan
17-Moors

Cool. I can keep my jersey!

The idea has merit and would probably make truckloads of cash however do we really want the game to end up like soccer or basketball where supporting the player is almost more important than the team?

+1

There's a potential for it all to go pear shaped by giving the players a big ego shot. Clubs may well sign certain players for the potential cash windfall instead of their ability.

You could see players using their jersey sales to determine their contracts, not their grit and talent on the paddock.

4 Lawrence ….helps his balance.....

How about the wear the player number they debut as a Wests Tiger....ACB style....1 Joel Caine....to Fifita 127 or whatever

Stuuupid.

The game doesn't need individual player numbers to be recognisable. Players know the history behind the jersey and the number and the pride when they put it on.

Imagine a junior from Newcastle wearing the Knights #7 after Joey. Or a Broncos junior to next wear the #6\. Or the next Parra junior to wear Hindy's 11 jersey.

And yeah, it's kind of a face palm to all those attached to Rugby League that at such a fragile time in the game, they're talking about these sorts of things rather than fixing the cap and the rep schedule. Typical
