Injuries and salary cap

With the number of injuries we have is there any concern with replacements (e.g bringing in Brooks). Can Lote be struck from our books?

Why would that matter? Brooks is paid x amount for the year and the top 25 highest paid come into our salary cap.

I'd say Brooks' contract states he's on X amount for NYC games which comes from the NYC Salary Cap (if there is one…?). If he plays first grade he needs to be paid from the first grade salary cap as far as I understand

But surely a NYC salary would not come close to the top 25 in the NRL? It'd have to be well above 100k and I doubt any 18 year old is being paid that in the u20s.

Brooks was just an example. There are also State Cup players who would be outside the top 25\. We will only be a few players away from drawing outside our top 25

With the salary cap, say for example Lawrence retires at the end of the year due to injury, does the club still need to pay out any years owing on his contract, or would that money then be freed up?????? Just asking the question. We have a lot of money tied up in injured and past there prime players.

I heard there are now guarantees under the players bargaining agreement that contracts are paid out on career ending injuries. Was brought in after Dwyers incident and implemented in the last agreement.

As I said in another thread their is 2 different discretions as far as salary cap goes

A tier 1 breach is like the Melbourne or bulldogs were they are intentionally hiding it and are up to their armpits in trouble

A Tier 2 breach would be injuries related usually ,or retirements as well you can apply for leeway due to your injuies or you can cop a fine

Hope that helps
