Is Mark O'Neil to blame?

While it may seem trivial to some, I don't think it was. You hear the phrase about 'losing the dressing room' a lot and how JT harps on about the backing of the board. It's because they are important. Confidence in the coach is paramount.

Undermining something that Taylor has emphasised as important, i.e. diet, just enables the players to question everything else that he has deemed important.

I still feel Taylor was righting the ship, slowly but surely. Mick O didn't do anyone any favours. He gave the players a way out on something they had deemed as a hardship, after a loss!

That's not going to breed toughness.

I'm sitting here, trying to figure out why the guys have just been overly lazy/dumb the last 3-4 weeks. One of the few correlations I can make is the appointment of Mark O'Neil into Head of Football.

I for one didn't like the way he went about overriding Taylor with the gluten free diet, getting the boys on pizza and beer.

Way more important than the health rationale, does anyone think that it might have put the final 'nail in Taylor's coffin' by undermining the authority he's worked hard to achieve.

Maybe because of it, some of the guys are no longer willing to play smart football and give that extra 10% for JT?

When I heard he over ruled Taylor (on a pretty minor thing albeit), think it sent a bad message.

Taylor et al had put a lot of work into revamping the balance of power away from the senior players and so on, this move swung it all back.

I dont think it is a long bow to draw that the poor performance is related to this move.

I think normal people know that O'Neill didnt just wander in and over rule the coach. But the Taylor haters would like to believe that.

I believe there is one factor, but to mention it means you are a hater of this particular player and im not interested to go there either.

I think a few people need to toughen up. I think someone needs to grow a set and take control and responsibility, be that Moses or Brooks.

I think Cherrington needs to start every game and learn to play big minutes with the rest of them. I dont care if we get beat now if we can GUARANTEE it is good for future growth.

I think Taylor also needs to stand up, get angry and start publicly firing off some missiles. Referees need a good serve and support your club. Serve up a drive by on those not putting in effort, such as Milone. Select a few lower graders and send the plodders back to reserves and show them all the are consequences. Get some anger and passion back.!

People are judging O'Neill after a month or so in the job??

Even if you think it was a poor appointment at least give him a few months to see what he comes up with.

I would not underestimate him to make some tough decisions.

He left a premiership winning captain, so its not like he left a dud.

I agree with you swordy if Taylor reckons they are not training tough or playing tough then get someone in there that will. But for christ sake not Buchanan he cant play.

They can't do thatEddie. ( give him a couple of months) ,
Our whole problem is Bucketts and Pizzagate.
If they give him any more time, next he'l be bringing steak burgers into the dressing room, and upsetting the Vegans while they're trying to load up on Tofu before a game.
No he must go now!!
This place is Nuts, (but that's a whole new problem)

Woods hurt his ankle because of all the extra weight the beer and pizzas have added

We need to tar and feather Buckets now , grab your pitchforks everyone

What I don't understand is that a player is already injured, say ankle, and they make him walk another 80 metres for treatment on that injured ankle making it worse. I will donate a builders barrel so they get a reprieve.

Prince was the captain. They were not firing under O'Neill and so he was removed.

I thought Buckets got injured and he wasn't made captain again upon his return since Prince had it under control.

Long time ago now , but didn't Sheens offer the captaincy back GF week or possibly even GF eve to Buckets ??

The coach is to blame as the squad is regressing under Taylor.
Moses, Brooks, Simona, Siro, Nofa are getting worse and the longer they continue he damage may be done. If WT truly believe in the long players the we need better coaching.

Our squad is average but we need to be improving.

I can't even tell if our squad is average because we seem so poorly coached.

Not too many others left to blame - so lets blame the Stadium for being in such good condition, and the sun shining….

And, don't forget the birds singing.
Those little bludgers can put a team off their game, in a heartbeat,
Especially thoseAfrican Swallows !!!
Why the hell hasn't Buckets done something about it ??????

Exactly. A change of coach is needed immediately.
