Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership Head Coach Paul Stringer has named his side to take on Mounties RLFC in their Round 12 clash this Saturday, May 28.

Kickoff for the match is at 3:00pm from Aubrey Keech Reserve as the third-placed Wests Tigers look to make it five wins in a row against the top-of-the-table Mounties RLFC.

Missing several players due to injury and first-grade commitments last week, Stringer's side have been boosted by the inclusion of Curtis Sironen and young gun Jacob Liddle, who returns to the Intrust Super Premiership competition after a stint back in Holden Cup.

Jeremy Marshall-King has been named in the halves alongside Jack Littlejohn after managing an ankle injury in last week's win, while John Tohi and Jayden Wheelhouse retain their respective positions on the wing after strong showings against the Knights.

A shame to see Chee-Kam relegated back to State Cup, he was very solid last week. As for Sirro, it will be interesting to see what his attitude is like after being dropped - he won't have liked it that's for sure.
 
… and Cherrington and Liddle both in the side... what's doing there?

Noticed Cherrington didn't get a lot of game time last week either.

Liddle killed it in the 20s…
Maybe a reward for playing well?

The guy named in the 20s this week - Daniel Peck,
played pretty poorly when he was on field.

20's will be missing Liddle heavily.
 
If Sirro decides to take the right attitude towards this it could be good for him:
- It puts him on notice that he doesn't have an entitlement to a first grade spot because of his old man - if he gets back there he'll know he's earned it by his play.
- It gives him a chance to work on his skills while under less pressure - he can chance his arm a bit with some offloads and maybe reintroduce a short kicking game.
- It'll give him a solid 80 minute run each week to keep building up his motor.

That's all up to him though. He could equally have a sulk about it.

Very interested to see how he responds to this.
He's been constantly poor on field for us, which is very dissapointing.

Eh I don't think Chee Kam did enough to light the world on fire… Fascination with seeing a new face in an ordinary side plays funny tricks on people. He was playing against the worst side in the comp and held his own. I didn't see any blistering line breaks, or try assists or big hits. He was run of the mill. Better than Milone, yes. That's just not enough to dislodge an incumbent. Addo Carr however, I expect would be close to dislodging Rankin. Surely has jumped Hunt. If he has a good game against the Broncos he might very well keep his spot when Tedesco comes back.

Chee-Kam didn't do anywhere near enough to keep his spot. JAC looked like a weapon. I'm not even sure if Chee-Kam can compete in the centres. Maybe he is a backrower only or a bench player.

Apparently his attitude and form is sufficiently fine to be selected and to perform well in City v Country.

What evidence Nelson do you have that his father has influence over his selection?

JT has retained consistent non performers in Nofoaluma and Kevin N.

Nobody cares about selection for City v Country. So many players exempt themselves from selection that it really means very little. The fact he played well (well he played alright, lets not oversell it) just makes it all the more disappointing that he hasn't been delivering at club level.

I think the only influence his father actually has over his selection is helping him get dropped to be honest…the comment I made that you're talking about had to do with perceptions. He walked into first grade at a young age and has kept a spot in first grade seemingly regardless of form for years. When he was moved to the 2nd row he didn't learn the ropes in reserve grade like most would, he went straight into first grade. He now has the chance (if he chooses to see it that way) to demand selection based on form and if he can do that it will help shed the _perception_ that he coasts by on his father's name. Also, why the hell do I need evidence to post an opinion on an internet forum anyway?
 
You've made a ctatement that his spot in the team was not earned but indeed an entitlement due to his father. I don't agree with this at all and asked what evidence do you have to make this claim/ Obviously the answer is your claim is not factual.

So because I don't produce "evidence" of a claim I never even made, it means that the inverse of my supposed claim is true? Guy on internet fails to provide "evidence" that Sirro Jnr being the son of Sirro has ever influenced his selection in the team therefore it has never happened. Good on you.
 
Good to see that Taylor has finally dropped non-performing players -Siro.
Kevin Naq has become a liability in defence and Simona needs to greatly increase his involvement

He was an Australian schoolboy and rated as one of the best juniors over three age groups. He deserved those accolades as well. He earned his first grade spot. Silly to suggest he hasn't.

He hasn't even been that bad in first grade just not as good as we expected or hoped. Hopefully a stint in State Cup will give him a chance to regain confidence and learn to dominate. He needs to pick up his workmate in attack. His defence has improved significantly over the past 12 months and that was his biggest weakness at one point in time.
